Why would you be selling them? They look great! How had their performance been? What would you "upgrade to"?

After staring at my ditch lights I decided theogony sat too high on the mounts.

    upload_2024-7-24_22-57-50.jpg

So I pulled the brackets off, trimmed em, drilled new mounting holes 3/8” lower, and flipped em.

    upload_2024-7-24_22-59-11.jpg

I also chased a wiring gremlin in the shell light harness and found a corroded connection and fixed it. All 4 shell lights work again.

Found out one of the rock lights is not working as well. I need to chase wiring Gremlins in that harness next.

I also ordered a new intermediate shaft and a rag joint.

Took advice from @mrproduxn and swapped out the cardboard design for aluminum one haha. Gotta sand down some high/low spots in the curves and then she’ll be ready for paint

I keep trying to find a 2008-2015 Tacoma double cab 4x4 long bed v6 trd off road/sport hopefully with the nicer bucket seats with under 145k for around 16k USD in goodish condition, can't seem to find anything. Any suggestions or am I high?

    Thanks man!

I’ve actually wanted to have a D2S set up at 55w, so what’s I plan on doing to be honest.

I’ve been super happy with them, the only issue is the passenger side high beam doesn’t work. But because of all of my lights, it didn’t really affect me and gave me the excuse to build a retrofit.

I’ll have the lights up for sale at a fair price.

How much of a PITA was this? I need to pull the same stuff this weekend to investigate a soft spot in the floor.

The OEM belt trim is a rubber coating covering what looks like shiny metal. Mine had deteriorated to the point where the rubber was peeling off so no amount of restorer would fix it.

Curious to see how this works out for you. I had done this mod in the past and hated it. I felt like the motor was struggling to breath and had a significant loss of power.

The seats are cake to remove. Four 14mm bolts in front to take the seat bottoms out, fold the backs down and there’s a small cover on each corner covering four more 14mm bolts. One more 14mm for the middle seat belt on the floor and the seat backs come out. Six 12mm bolts for the cubbies and just take your time pulling straight out for all the plastic clips. The under seat cubby is eight plastic retainers I pulled out with a trim tool and that just lifts right out. The bottom “C” pillar is all clips to see the floor the top half has three 10mm bolts.

I do feel the truck accelerates better, any little power gain from all the weight and 35’s is a plus for me. I’m happy with it to be honest.

Long beds aren't on the off roads. If you want a long bed the SR5 trim is your best bet.

The question is what have I done TO the Tacoma, but unfortunately I only did something FOR the Tacoma. I made a modular power box so I wouldn't have to install a deep cycle in the truck for camping purposes. It also allowed me to power stack 200ah of lifepo4 goodness into a toolbox with a detachable dolly. I can power my diesel heater box (which is stackable on top of the modular box), and my water pump/jerry can setup (like Trailwash but built by hand), alongside literally anything else I throw at it from a 12v/USB PD perspective, and also a quick setup for an inverter if needed. The biggest thing is that I can take this power box and charge it strictly with solar, strictly on alternator power, or both at the same time. Given this means that I would need to permanently affix panels to the truck, I decided to opt for using the DC input part as a "charging on the way to camp" and the solar parts as "charging while in camp". I can throw out a parts list if anyone is interested, but it's fairly easy to design.
