Yes I prefer open end. Wouldn't go back to a closed end.
Where that broke is more likely because of vibration.

I just have a pigtail sae plug handing in an easy to get to but not in the way spot on my bikes. I made a little adapter to go from sae to 12v socket so I can charge things with the bike off or have the ability to run an sae extension with the same 12v socket adapter in my top box shut for charging off things while running back there.

KEEP AN EYE ON POLARITY WITH SAE PLUGS.

IE, the positive on the bike side is going to be the shielded, female side, unlike the positive on your battery tender or anything you plug into the bike.

Whats your thought process on that? I LOVE my full wrap around guards on my WR450, much more protection for hands and controls, gives you a great grab point when moving the bike around (on the ground when you crashed infront of that cute moto chick during the hill climb you thought you would look cool on) etc.

For the guys that have the Slacker.. this was in my junk mail back on the 15th. Just seen it tonight. The important part (IMO) is the highlighted.

Flags glide past trees and keep any inherent bar flex.

i.e. you clip a tree with the flag, the flag deflects towards your hand and bike continues going straight.

Wraparounds will send the bike off the other side of the trail.

I also always grab my grips. Most of the time I'm restarting the bike and using clutch and throttle to keep the bike where it is or get up the rest.

Hit a tree on the left and typically will end up following the red line with wraps. Flags typically will stay following the green line. With that said I have smashed my fingers a few times

Emailed a dealer about 3 hours away to see if they'd give me an OTD price on a Tracer 9 GT+, guess at a trade in on the BMW (it's probably less than I'd want it to be, but if they're trying to deal it'll save me money on sales tax potentially, not to mention headache), and more info on Yamaha's current financing promo.. we'll see how this all turns out, fingers crossed they are an MSRP plus freight dealer and not a throw on a bunch of extra fees dealer :burp: Google reviews are 280 and 4.6 stars..

The Tracer is such a sexy looking bike! Only problem is it's chain drive. :crapstorm:

Meh, chain doesn't bother me, I get it's not preferable for everyone though. Chain maintenance is easy and it gives you the flexibility to play with gearing. For example, my F800GS I have a 14T for around town and a 16T for when I'm going on long trips and slabbing around to lower highway RPMs.

Have you ridden an FJ-09/Tracer 9 gt?

Its been awhile since i rode one (2016/2017) But I was DEAD SET on owning one, on paper it was the perfect canyon carver and long distance bike with that inline 3 CP3 motor great suspension and tech package.... till i rode one.

The ergos... its upright up top and cramped on the bottom and your shins hit the motor with how the side cases stick out. Not so much of a problem when you are leaned forward on the MT09 but when sitting upright it seemed to be more of a problem. AT LEAST FOR ME. Needless to say before signing on the dotted line ride one for a bit.

    Rite rite.

I have been bumming around on the web and figured I’d check out the link. Pretty cool to see where he is. Looks like it kinda works like my Garmin Inreach.
