Jackery is fine but DC output is limited because they use Li Ion batteries and step down to save money. I did a DIY 100ah LiFePo4 with 32650s. BMS, resettable 60amp breaker, and a renogy solar charge controller are inside. It runs my edge star fridge for 3 days, but more importantly I can run my 30amp HF ham radios with it. I have Anderson powerpole connectors on everything. I also did a 25ah version in an ammo box...

Another good part of that setup is golfindia can replace individual components if they fail (or when the batteries degrade).

And I DON'T want to learn a bunch of clutter for my brain when I have other priorities. If I'm not in business and it's not something that's making me money... all I want is a plug and play. Being an expert in something that's just a one-off isn't important to me.

But I do like reading these comments from people that know more than I do. It might inform my choices and I can appreciate that.

Sure... don't we all? If it's your bag, go for it. I just differentiate between low priority and high priority.

My high priority is taken care of, so I guess everything else is low priority.

First Ghost peppers off the plant!

Even when green, they are hot too. Red is another level though.

Dehydrate them and grind them into powder in the spice grinder. Wear gloves. And a respirator.

I slice em and eat em with salty foods, but my heat tolerance is high. I drop a pepper in a pot of chili for some extra zing! We also drop a pepper in a jar of pickles for some spice as well.

This too! I think I’m going to smoke some peppers and then grind them up to powder.

FWIW, I expect every sane person to look at FEMA's recommended preps and start from there.

    https://www.ready.gov/kit

That's a general short term bug in/bug out kind of scenario. Wildfires, power outages, weather events, etc. You /know/ (and it's gov approved) that you have those things.

Beyond that? We're talking scenarios. My recommendation is, don't get preps you don't use even occasionally. Truck camping stuff doubles as a vehicular bug out thing. Veggie garden doubles as extra fresh veg during the summer/fall... etc. This is your starting point, at any rate.

Spent the last couple weeks at camp with the kids. Didn't notice either.
Lol. You're better off with a STL of some of the things that might be banned.
Yup I lubs me some solar. I have something similar at camp (with just one 60w roll out panel), but the truck has 200w.

speaking of wildfires we are watching eastern Oregon to see if we need to extract family including our kids out of the area. BiL is working one of those fires now.
