    hell yeah!

I’m going to need a bit of time today. Since this nightmare house project from hell I have tools living in my tool box, boxes under my bed, boxes in the spare closet, etc.

It’ll be fun to dig everything out and give you a count.

Okay... after opening one tote of tools and realizing an entire tube of red Permatex lube busted open all over everything, then spending over an hour cleaning everything, I think I have a count for you.

I feel like I'm missing a couple so I may just order two more of each size.

For real... if this gets costly with the materials and your time just let me know. I'm more than happy to pay for it.

That said, are there colors cheaper than others? I'd like to keep your costs down. But honestly, if the above pieces are silver (can't tell if they're black with flash glare) I'm also digging the look of silver and could do all of them in that color.

Let me hear what color that is and then I can give you a final decision on colors.

    1/4" (silver): 9

    3/8" (blue): 19 :anonymous:

    1/2" (red): 6

I'll be there tomorrow morning 7am to pick them up

The ones in the pic are silver. Cost is currently the same for each roll, $16.
The biggest thing is my time here, let me break it down.
The pieces for the handle alone are the fastest and take 23 minutes each. There are 34 of these, figure 15-17 hours if nothing fails.
The 1/2" heads are 1 hour and 3 minutes each. 6 hours.
3/8" heads are 46 minutes each. 18 hours
1/4" heads are 38 minutes each. 5-6 hours
So at the conservative high end, around 47 hours, assuming nothing breaks, and something most likely will.
They might be ready by the end of the year.

But seriously @Madjik_Man ,make your color decisions, might be done by next weekend. You just cover the filament cost per roll and that should be fine.

    for real.

All I’d have to do is post on Garage Journal - so long as they come in cheaper than MagAttach and people would place orders.

You would need 19 sets at around $25 a set for a total before taxes of $475.
Loose in a drawer doesn't look that bad now.

Alright I really like the silver so I’ll change it to the 3/8s

Just let me know the cost. I really appreciate this.

    so:

    1/4" (blue): 9

    3/8" (silver): 19

    1/2" (red):6

So does it print one piece at a time or can you put a big block of plastic in it and have it cut multiple pieces?

It does one at a time. I did load it so it prints 6 handle pieces at once and 3 each of the ratchet heads at once. Time is the same either way, I just don't have to check it as often.

    Thinking about it.

I’m amazed at how many files are out there on Thingiverse and the likes. Plus designing my own stuff? Seems like a cool hobby.

Once the debt eases from this disaster house project and daughter’s college, maybe I’ll get into it.

    So basically never.

It's under $300 to get a machine, and a couple rolls of filament. :boink:

They are on sale right now. Might have to pick up another and ramp up production.
This is an entry level printer, it's what I have. It's all I know.
