Haven't ridden one yet, since it's 3 hours away. Starting with trying to see if they'll even give me an OTD price or not. Would obviously test ride before purchase. I have a tall torso and short legs, so upright ergos are what I'm looking for.

Haven't heard back from the dealer yet (they've been open for an hour, c'mon bros haha). Fingers crossed. Currently consuming every youtube review I can find on it hah.

Edited to add: this gen has an adjustable hi/low seat and two position pegs. If it was close to the cases fingers crossed those adjustments would help.

    Carbureted 2008 Kawi KLX450R
    • It was running great in NM 5000-7000' elevation; I leaned it out a bit (tightened the fuel screw) and opened the idle for the altitude
    • Running great in AR 1500-2500' elevation, no change
    • Got home to GA, loosened the fuel screw back to where I thought it was for 600-1000' normal riding around here
    • Rode it 150 miles or so, 1/2 road, 1/2 mellow gravels
    • last ride was 98ºF for 25 miles on the road... it seemed to idle too fast but I kept it slow/easy to keep the temp down
    • went to check the fuel screw and it had backed all the way out of the bottom of the carb... way too rich
    • screwed fuel screw back in and then out 2 turns to reset
    • first few times trying to restart, got only backfires
    • now, no fires at all... just cranks and nothing
I'm thinking maybe the extra-rich condition during that last road ride may have fouled the plug. But I hate to pull the seat and tank to check it. Guess I have to do that now. And then pull the carb to check the needle and fuel screw.

Pull the air cleaner, shoot some carb cleaner / stating fluid / squirt of gas from a syringe down its throat while trying to start... if it fires off it aint spark related. I highly doubt the idle air fuel screw even fully backed out would foul a plug on a 4 stroke bike unless it was sitting idiling for ages (but it wouldnt idle well so it would die lol)

@nd4spdbh, I have already thought of building a dedicated play area in the back yard. just a thought though.

Again, because I can't afford a real one, but also because it fits. Not sure I mentioned it in this thread, but I no longer have a Toyota. Missed a V8, never should have got rid of my '19 Tundra, but that's the past. Tuesday I bought...... a Ferd. :anonymous:

    Do it!

Nothing wrong with dropping the truck for another. I keep thinking about it all the time. I been driving Fords at work for years. I have no issues with them at all. That said, The one feature I really like is, being able to use the E-locker in all modes (IE: 2 wheel, 4 high and low). As far as I know... No one else does.

It's definitely better than the 3rd gen taco one that is locked behind 4L. At least on the 4G they let it go in 4H, but IDK if it works in 2H.
