I'm going to quibble w/Hurts @ #10, and I like that guy. But he faded hard at end of season. I'm thinking Jordan Love fills that slot after the beat down he engineered against Dallas in the playoffs.

 

A case could be made for Goff at 10 as well, especially if he plays well again this year and takes the Lions deep into January.

These ten have a combined 17-20 playoff record including 0-3 in the Super Bowl.

Compare that to Mahomes 15-3 playoff record including 3-1 in the Super Bowl.

Patrick is a bargain at the moment. But I’m sure he will get a raise soon. He won’t be off this list for too long.

 

Yikes..compare this as well to the contracts in New England that Tom Brady had. Scary in a way, though Tom always took less money to enable the team to build.

 

I’m hopeful Mahomes values the rings and the endorsement $ that comes with success more than being high on this list. Not that he won’t negotiate for more, no way he settles for below average money for certain. But I hope he follows the Brady model.

 

He would be wise to do so, definitely.

 

It’s important to look at how much they impact the cap space though. The overall cost doesn’t tell the full story. If I remember correctly for the next 2-3 years Mahomes affects the Chiefs cap space more than Burrow affects the Bengals.

 

It also helps when your (then) wife brings in $30mil a year.

 

I have super high hopes for my Chargers this year. They made huge changes to the coaching staff, can't wait to beat the piss out of the Raiders and Broncos.

 

I think with Harbaugh and Herbert, a few good roster moves/drafts, in a couple of years they will challenge the Chiefs for the West division. I’m not expecting much this year, but they are potentially moving in the right direction now after underperforming for years.

 

Makes sense. Change takes time to blossom. It's the biggest move the ownership has made in many years. Can't wait.

 

That doesn't hurt matters of course, but even at what TFB made he could afford to live without worrying about his next meal either.

Tedy Bruschi was well known for that type of stuff..part is he married young and she kept him grounded from stupidity, but he took far less than market to be able to stay here where his family knew as home. He didn't have an agent to take a piece of his action either.
