Bought an Ergon SM Pro saddle this last weekend and it's leaps and bounds better than my previous handout Norco seat. I was really hesitant about the price and thought id be wasting money, 100% wrong. its comfy and that channel is nice on the gonads :)

Agreed, I have one of those on my hard tail and like it a lot. I’m running Spank saddles on all my other bikes and am happy with them also.

Do any of you guys/gals have the newest generation Transition Smuggler? If so, what do you think?? The biggest complaints in reviews I've read mention the large opening above the BB (for cable routing) and the subpar frame bearings? Are these "real" problems?? Thanks!!

i can't go anything but ergon now. it's so comfy and i hardly notice it now on long rides. is there a better saddle out therE? maybe. but so far, for my butt, Ergon seems to fit the bill well.

I have been really happy with OEM WTB Volt saddles. Eight years on the saddle on my 2015 Tallboy and it felt (and looked) as good in 2023 as when new. And the same saddle on my 2023 Ripley feels the same.

I thought my Ergon was comfy until I got an SQLabs saddle.

I use to be all about vintage cruiser/city bikes. I built a bunch of 60s and early 70s Schwinns. Always used Brooks saddles.
But about 6 years ago once I started riding my road bike more, I got a Selle Anatomica (split leather saddle) and I dont think I can ride anything else. I dont usually ride too far. Usually just 15 miles but once in a while as much as 30 or so at a time. I dont use riding shorts or anything and never have pain

I see a lot of those electric scooters here too. My one buddy just picked up a fairly basic one (goes about 20mph). I rode it and it was awful lol basically solid tires and no suspension. Was not stable at all so I did not want to go any faster

The the cable routing thing sounds like a nitpick. The frame bearings thing could be real but I have a 1st iteration of the new version of the Scout since 2020 (new frame design, that Transition slowly rolled out to all other models) and a Spire since 2022. I have had zero issues with any of my bearings.

yeah, i've had the WTB Volts. they don't feel real good on my butt for whatever reason. :/ Wish they did because I got a few around and always seem to get them spec'd on new bikes.

I've heard of SQLabs saddles. Haven't tried them yet. haha!

On the saddle front, I definitely recommend trying some saddle rentals at your LBS. Many allow you to try a few before buying because it's such a personal thing. Some companies also have no questions asked return policies for the same reason.

My buddy switched to the Bike Yoke sagma recently and loves it... pretty interesting option: https://bikepacking.com/gear/bikeyoke-sagma-review/

I thought it looked promising but I only ever heard “meh “ or negative refuses from first hand stuff. I’d recommend a test ride.. I was shocked that people didn’t love it but to each their own. I’m not picky I bet I’d like it

A little smokey on my home trails. And a sorta selfie. Back when I had hair, knee cartilage and was 20 lbs lighter.

What you guys think a set of wheels are worth with rotors and SLX cassette and chain. I have an upgrade problem.

I’ve got an X01 cassette and chain that’s been sitting on the shelf for over a year going on these.

DT240 DEG, Triad 30mm front and Sector 28mm rear.
