So I had a guy offer me hit lt kit from and 03 ranger and he said that his brother put it on his 04 taco and I was wondering if I could do the same with my 96? Its a full front and rear kit with all the shocks.

    ^^^lol

Those are two totally different trucks. He lied to you about his brother. You would hear of a lot more people putting ranger suspension on these trucks if it was actually possible. The ranger just has coil springs with the shock through the center whereas the tacoma has coilovers. That is the biggest difference. Also the geometry of the upper and lower control arms are going to be different for each truck.

    talk about custom fab...

doesnt matter if it's an A arm kit or I beams... that shit would never "bolt on" and would require way too much effort to make it work and that dude is full of shit.

You can put anything on anything. Have you seen the SCORE Trophy trucks? Those things can't even be sort of considered their base truck because they're so modified.

Will it be worth it? Hell no. If that guy is lying about his bro (I'm assuming he called him his bro), then he's probably trying to make a quick buck off you and the kit is probably thrashed in the first place.

you can't consider TT trucks to be their base truck because they are not built off a base truck frame or platform. they are entirely custom build tube frames.

no way. I have actually owned and lifted three different ford rangers in the past. Ranger suspension design differs completely from tacos. 4x4s, edges, sports use a torsion bar front design(which rides like hell btw). The XLs, and XLTs use a coil spring design. Nowhere close to the same. Pass
