The BFG's I have are E rated. It's all I could get at the time. I'm going to pay around $800 or less for four tires.

Yup...hence the reason for the lighter weight tire. The E rated will always be more weight due to its thickness.

Are the tires you run, E rated?

They are yes. They are a little harsher of a ride but I think my suspension makes up for it. Plus, I put tires through hell on the trail lol so the E rating might have been best in my case. I used to have C-Rated BFG'S for years. They only offered my 33's in a SL or an E rated so I went with E.

SL tires are typically gonna be softer which i like offroad (more malleable and in turn grippy), the caveat is they're weaker than the LT equivalent

Basically trade compliance and sidewall flex for durability. Then again, less likely to break drivetrain components w/less weight at each corner, and acceleration/highway cruising/MPG will all be better than E-rated tires. The list goes on...

I spend 90% driving on road so a lighter tire would benefit me. I think. Remember, I have a 4 cylinder. The thing is a dog.

I could always take the B line if I need to. I don't have anything to prove.

I went straight from 4 ply to 10 in roughly the same size. The ride is about the same for me when they're at the same pressures. I run my E loads at 40, the 4 ply (stocks) I ran closer to 32-34. So that's not helping. I notice it on speed bumps more than anything. I got tired of flats in the north maine woods. But yeah same, other than the NMW, a 4 ply would be plenty for me. I just went to town fair and got a cheap set of E loads, I think it was about 1100 for 5 mounted and balanced. Since then I'm glad I have them though, I've put those through some crap I didn't expect to since then.

Is there a consensus on what spindle gussets fit the best and are the strongest setup?

NMWs is the reason for many tire purchases

Had someone ask about welding aluminium today. I think it went ok for literally my first 2 feet of aluminium welds.

Should be able to dial it in this winter
