    Don't know if it's just the setup in the damp, but Max is fast today. Bodes well for his chances to climb up from his starting position.

    It’s more entertaining listening to him cry from the back though.

    Wonder if Hamilton is regretting his decision yet.

    I know right? I really did not think that it was possible to run 34 laps of SPA on one set of tires and maintaining position.....maybe it was due to the new tarmac they put down. Even though I am far from a Russell fan, it was really good driving. I am glad that Merc let them race at the end and not let Hamilton go by to prove that the one stop was possible. And not one safety car!!! Every teams strategy was counting on at least one safety car.

    Sucks for Russell. All teams fuel the cars low on this track because a safety car almost always happens and then no cool down lap at the end of the race, him using too much fuel and then not able to pick up any rubber on the cool down lap must have put him just underweight.

    Lando f'd himself on the first corner and then raced an uninspiring race, shame.

    Goodbye Perez... I'm thinking Sainz will announce his seat soon.

    Good race but what a shitty way to lose the win. I’m curious what the team removed/modified without accounting for the weight difference.

    The above, plus extra metal scraped from skid, more than anticipated perhaps.

    Apparently to do with too much fuel left in the car, maybe Mercedes knew he would be underweight and left some fuel in to to try and offset/cheat?
    Following the stewards’ report, which noted that Russell’s car was initially “not fully drained [of fuel] according to the draining procedure submitted by the team in their legality documents”

    Around 3.3 pounds..............frrrt.............. 1/2 gallon or so.........wow. I just complemented the team (above). Yoops.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    It's nice to see the driving leader mix up and 4 constructors battling. This is what I was griping about a couple years back (and the over technical rules, oh sorry MB )

    Oh today was a lovely race.

    perfect prelude to four weeks off. My money is on Lawson to take Sergio’s seat.

    for the record I loathe GR, it’s about time he got shamed for the goal tending and odd strategies he’s always trying. I wish I could taste his tears.

    Checo had a good quali but went from P2 to P7 by the end of the race. No bueno. It's criminal that Sainz doesn't have a seat for 2025 yet.

    & Lando can't stop shooting himself in the foot. Another bad start, another race he possibly could have won had he hadn't had that bad start.
