That’s how I started my first truck the majority of the time. A new battery cost 1/2 as much as the truck.

It’s also quite common to start an engine that way when you accidentally kill the engine while braking down a slippery/steep slope.

Yep, countless kicks saved on dirt bikes stalled on fortuitous terrain.

Spent my 21st birthday in Havana (a little crazy idea at the time) made our way around in an old Russian car serving out it third or fourth decade of life as a Cuban taxi. Dude only parked on hills, and I don't think he was in a hurry to get to AutoZone.. lol

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Is this the opposite of the extended crank start?

He means as soon as you turn key or push to start..it starts without the motor turning.

I don't see the problem myself....

You don't want your truck to roll over when you're starting it. That could cause all sorts of damage like crush the roof, break the windows not too mention if you're not buckled in you could get thrown from the vehicle.
Truck not rolling over when you start it is a good thing, working as intended.

The starter. Lol. Old guy at shop I used to work at says engines turn. Starters roll. When I "turn" the key over the truck fires emediatly. No "turn" ove of the starter. And sometimes it clunks when it starts that way.

No, i think it's the fact that you said the engine doesn't roll over, and just starts. It is rolling over, it's just starting without having to rotate multiple times. That's normally a good thing. For me, the temperature/weather sometimes plays into it. Or how long it's been since the last time I started it.

The clunk though, you'd need to get a video with sound for any better diagnosis most likely. You aren't holding the key too long since the engine is starting quicker than expected, right?

Truck does it with both new AND old oil, and exhibits inhibition when in the presence of strangers.
    Perplexing...

My Honda lawn mower does it when absolutely cold and temp. is warm, as soon as that plug fires, it's on it's mission so I wouldn't worry about the no 'roll over'. I used to consider a sign of well tuned on a car. The clunk I'd be wanting to get to the bottom of.

I've asked for opinions of a problem I was having not opinions how how to correctly word something. People say pop people say soda just cause your lives are miserable don't mean that gives righht to be a duche. People on other trends knew exactly what I was talking about and gave some good knowledge. If you don't have knowledge don't give your opinion. If I used turn over like everyone wants you'd still be douche.

I think you need to define your terms for us, because i still don’t understand you and I’m guessing I’m not the only one.
