Yep, which I know is only $9 less than Seelbach's, but by the time you add shipping and tax you're near a $100 for a bottle. Of course I can't even get it shipped to me in TN, I'd have to have shipped to folks place in FL.

Personally, I think the $66 is a little high for what it is, I'd be more inclined to buy it around the $55 mark. I haven't tried the BiB, though next time I buy a bottle I'll give that a whorl. So I can determine if the extra proof is worth the money.

Think about what it is: a barrel proof wheated aged at least six years.

Compare to what else is on the market with similar proof, composition and age, for example:

    Bernheim Barrel Proof: $65-70
    Larceny Barrel Proof: $70
Traverse City Barrel Proof Wheat: $100
Southern Star Single Barrel Cask Strength Wheated: $80
Weller Full Proof: $55, but rarely available below $150

The only cheaper comparable bottles I can think of immediately are Maker’s Cask Strength and Old Emmer Cask Strength (both $55) which are at lower proofs than the Holladay.

I’d say the Holladay Rickhouse price is actually pretty good. Particularly for a smaller distillery.

An OF w/ OF Rye while I tended to my paella…it was hot out and my ice ball melted quicker than normal, so a few additional cubes to keep the OF cold :)

I cracked the bourbon and rye tonight.

Both are good, I like the rye better. But I don't mind mint and herb in a rye and @Hook78 hates it. One of my favorite ryes I describe as "Straw grass soaked in honey".

    So, consider context.

I have never even thought to do a paella on my kettle. That’s a serious dish to cook over coals- respect.

@Front sight — thank you! it’s one of my favorite cooks to do. Just can’t beat it! And the OFs kept me cool tending to the cook! :)

I found this on disount at cosco, like $10 off. Does it belong in the same infinity bottle as the other “budget” whiskeys?

The one I cracked last night was the Heaven Hill Grain to Glass.

The favorite I mentioned is John AP Conoley Limited Reserve Rye.

I should’ve kept the HH G2G rye for my next door neighbor when we have whiskey together from time to time. A few days ago I brought over a Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye, which is a heavy favorite of mine, and he found it to be too smooth. He probably would have loved something that to me tastes like my thyme and rosemary have been soaking in the bottle for weeks.

All the reviews say the bourbon and rye are decent but the wheated is really good. I believe it’s also the only barrel proof of the three.
