    Hi all,

I was wondering if a spindle lift + the standard bilstein coilover kit sounds like a reasonable combination. I suppose most importantly, I just want to reassure myself that it would actually work together (I'm certainly not mechanically-inclined, despite my enjoyment of these kinds of things). I also would like to throw in some fiberglass fenders with this combo, and was thus wondering how far the spindle kit extended out the wheels (can't seem to find this info on the camburg website).

So, basically, I was wondering if these two kits would combine well with each other:

    http://www.polyperformance.com/shop...ogle&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=4X4products

and also, what setting should the front coilovers be set at if you are using the spindles as well? I'm assuming the 2.5" (or whatever the highest was) in combination with the 4" or so from the spindles might just be too much given the slight lift in the rear.

    thanks in advance all!

    cheers

Sorry, but I had one more question:

Would the spindles work with a long-travel kit? My long-term plan is to end up with this, but I'd like to ensure that if I spend $1k on spindles, that they will work with a long-travel kit as well.

I also wanted to clarify a previous question- would fiberglass fenders (say the glasswerks set) look ridiculous with just the spindles and bilstein setup, or would they fill it out at all decently? I tried searching for pictures of this in the forums, but couldn't seem to come up with much.

    Much thanks all!

to answer your first question, yes, the coilovers will work with the lift spindles.

how much lift are you trying to get? the spindles will give you 4", you can leave the coilovers at the lowest setting or up to 1" and that would give you to best ride. 2.5+4= 6.5" of lift.

I think they will push the tires out 3/4". I think glass fenders would look goofy with only spindles, the tires would still be tucked inside the fenders.

What do you have planned for the rear? I would suggest the allpro 3" leaf pack

thanks for the info. I think it would be a good, and not super-expensive, combination. I am slightly worried about how odd it may look with the spindles making the tires stick out, both with or without the fiberglass (without, i certainly wouldn't want any fender rub, with, i don't want the tires to not fill out the majority of the well width).

if anyone has any pictures of front glass with and without spindles, it would be much appreciated!

    thanks again for the input.

*edit* also, i'm in it primarily for the performance, so it seems the spindles + lowest setting on the coilover bilsteins might be nice. however, 6.5" does sound like quite a bit, as I don't want it to be overkill height-wise (again any pics would be super helpful). side note- on my first truck's lift kit, the spindles were not replaced and the stock ones broke 3 or 4 times on the driver's side if i recall correctly (clearly this was a weakness).

if you get allpro fiberglass fenders it will look good, they only have a 2.5'' flare

awesome. i was looking for a less-flared fender. however, i've visited the allpro forum, and can't seem to figure out where the hell to buy stuff (ie-website).

of course i was exhausted last night while looking, and am at work at the moment.

    thanks for the info

*edit* found them. Anyone know if you need an additional piece to make it flow smoothly with the stock bumper, or does it fit flush with it?

    cheers

hey thanks for the info and pictures guys. i really appreciate all of the help.

i think i've "decided" (this changes on an hourly basis) to go with the bilstein coilover kit first, then the spindle kit, then maybe the allpro glass. i'm planning to have the bilsteins set to 2.5" or so at first, then lower them down when i eventually get the spindle kit.

also, seeing some of these pictures actually made me miss barstow, strangely enough.

one last question- i'm seeing contradictory remarks regarding whether or not the 2.5" setting on the 5100s will require uca's. I was trying to avoid a uca kit since i'm planning a long-travel kit in the future. however, i'd enjoy the truck to either be level, or at a squat (not lower in the front). is there any relatively easy way to tell if putting them at 2.5" when installing will fly or not (that is, will the installation dude easily see if shit's going to hit the fan, rather than me realizing this when on the freeway on the way to work)?

    thanks all

*edit*- zombie, thank you for that pic you posted. i looked at sandman's build thread, and the pictures are mildly confusing with respect to which mods are on it when. honestly, the way the truck sits in the picture you posted is exactly what i'm going for, aesthetic-wise. if you happen to know what he has on it at that point, that would be perfect (my fingers are crossed for just the spindle kit, but i think he put kings on it first thing judging by his thread). thanks again man, much appreciated!

*ugh, second edit*- the hell is the difference between the "ultimate" lift from toytec and the bilstein one i linked? it looks (and i've read) that it's just that the ultimate can be adjusted without removing the shocks. i just read elsewhere that there may be some more differences...though the post was incomprehensible to me.

the "ultimate lift kit" will have everything you need for a 3" lift from toytec.
I think at first sandman just had spindles and coilovers up front and for the rear he had blocks. he said the blocks sucked hard so he got a new leaf pack (if i remember correctly).
Shoot him a PM with any questions about his truck.

If you want the "bro lean" then just get the coilovers and set them at 2.5", dont touch the rear end and your good to go. you shouldnt need new UCA's for only 2.5"

this is my last taco with the toytec 3" spacer lift and AAL

it all depends on how much you can spend. I think my truck looked good but it rode like crap.

Camburg spindles, All Pro leaf pack
You can order the spindles from camburg and tell them you are from tacomaworld and they will give you a 10% discount on the spindles. The spindles will only work with a long travel kit if you get the non sway bar compatible spindle. I just got my spindles and wanted to put on 5100's as well (set at 1.75) would I need to do anything else (like extend cv's or driving stablilizers)? Thanks

you are 2wd so no, you dont have cv's. cv's are on 4wd trucks, thats the part that makes the front wheels have power to them ;)

Painted stock wheels, bfg km2s, 5100s front and rear, tc spindles, add a leaf, 3" block, debaged, flowmaster exhaust, 2nd air filter removed, wheel spacers and k&n air filter
Tc spindles and 5100s at 2.5 also on stock rims with 1.25" wheel spacers. If I'm correct spindles add 3/4" to each side pushing out atleast that's tc spindles that I know of. Looks good! What set up do you have for the rear?

I have Camburgs, 5100s set at 1.75, AllPro 3" pack on 1" blocks and pretty happy with this set up. :D

A rear add a leaf and a 3" block. Looking to do close to your rear setup eventually mines a little stiff of a ride. Got a pic of yours handy?

anyone know how difficult it is to readjust the height of the 5100s after they've been installed? specifically, how much added effort would be involved if i were to have the spindles installed at a later time, and wanted the 5100s to be lowered some?

also, nickalapos- i lived in cocoa beach for a year, up until about 10 months ago. thoroughly enjoyed that place.
