Hello guys picked up this 2001 tacoma crew cab 4x4 auto.. with 144k miles on it about a month ago. First Toyota that I ever bought.Always been a Honda or GMC guy..well to continue with my issue every time the truck jumps to the next gear I get a jolt and it’s very noticeable in low gears at low speeds. Could this be a motor mount issue where the mounts are worn? If someone has experienced similar issues and it’s the mounts are there any particular brand that has a good rep that doesn’t kill the bank?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I’ll guess center bearing. Go oe.

Driveline "jerking" can certainly point to engine or trans mounts. One mass wants to move and another doesn't. I would look at the trans mounts first as the motor mounts on these are pretty robust.

Honestly easier to check the mounts than starting a thread

Have you checked your ATF fluid level? Sometimes these A340F transmissions will shift hard if they're low on fluid. Otherwise yes, check mounts (engine and trans)

Honestly haven't poked around the mounts been a hot day.. just curious if anyone has experienced this and its a norm much like the threads I bumped into while searching about this jerking situation which came across about the trucks jumping when shifting cold from park to drive or park to reverse..and seems that it’s a norm with these tacos until they hit regular temp..
