Thanks for the video, we all know that we need to replace the engine at 980,000 miles, so I'll save the video for when I need to replace it in the year 2068

    Nice work!
I know someday this series will come in very handy. Hopefully not anytime soon though.

Wow, you have high expectations for your motor. If you believe you're going to get that kind of mileage out of your engine, I may have a sweet deal on a bridge that just came up for sale. Stay tuned.

Even with exaggeration, sarcasm doesn't get across by typing, does it?

Well, it's hard to say what your message was. Were you trying to say making our video series was a waste of time because these engines are known to last most people for a very very long time or were you trying to say something else? So, the purpose of your sarcastic remark wasn't exactly clear to me and probably most others as well.

Just saying that these trucks last forever, and when it comes to that point, the video will come in handy.

I'm not the type to diss anyone's effort especially making a great video and taking the time to do so.

But anyway, Noted that I can't make jokes because people might be misread and take things out of context.

Nah Dude, joke away. It was just that it wasn't clear what you were getting at. I agree, these rigs will last forever if you take care of them. Maybe hire a joke writer and come back with some new material. Here's one you can use: How do you circumcise a Hillbilly Boy? Answer: Kick his sister in the jaw.

My truck is better off for Tim and his crew making these vids. Lord knows I couldn’t afford to pay someone else for all I plan to do. With 0.0 mechanic knowledge or experience I’ve done my radiator, cv axles, and lower ball joints myself already and will definitely be putting many more vids to good use while teaching myself how to work on my own truck. Thanks, Tim.

Thanks for the new videos, Timmy! Good stuff! I am surprised you didn't insist that guy first steam clean the engine/engine bay before heading over to your place!

Most of the gunk was low on the engine and would have been hard to steam clean off. He did say he did quite a bit of cleaning before he left Arizona. It was all good. Rey and his buddy Joe worked their asses off so we definitely partnered with the right guys to do this video series. We could have chosen to do this job for some dude who stood around with his hands in his pockets watching Sean and I work. Rey and Joe were instrumental in getting the job done in the 4 days we had available to pull it off.

The joke/sarcasm wasn't picked up cause its not 100% impossible some OG 5vz's won't go over 980,000K. You gotta exaggerate to the 'inth degree like I did.

Timmah! i have High expectations :)

if you routinely change the oil on 3k 5k 7k intervals plus keep the Toyota Pink coolant fresh on schedule and do Not run them High RPMs routinely over 4k what else is there to keep in mind for maintenance and upkeep :notsure:

there is a decent video of a teardown of a 5VZFE that blew up
how the heck did THIS happen?

    Timmy was banned.

Water pump failure, oil pump failure, low oil, neglected head gasket leak, excessive valve lash wearing cams will all cause failure

Engine Clicking. Need to remove valve covers and use a feeler gauge on between the cam lobes and the valve spring caps, do a search for the whole process or FSM

I read somewhere that engine clicking is likely nothing more than the fuel ⛽ injectors? Sewing machine sound
Removing valve covers to reseal was quoted to me recently as a 900$ task :( on the 5VZFE plus extra hour+ whatever to check the valves for spec

Are there Any other symptoms with that for verification? I am worn LoL from chasing down what might be the issues on my rig!
