It actually is controlled by the Holley. Could very well be that. And they’re pulling air from the sky and pushing it down into my bed

The pushing into a wall thing could be an issue. Especially considering the aero stuff that goes on in a truck bed.
I’ll bet any money that was your Holley issue. The question is, what caused it in the first place.

Good question, could’ve been a bad crimp on my end. Not sure. All the other ones are fine.

im not saying you’re wrong about this causing the issue, but I also found some unterminated wires in the Holley harness itself, for the IAC motor. I adhesive heat sleeved those too just to make sure they weren’t contacting each other. Not sure if that was a contributing factor or not.

But good news is, so far, no issues have come back. Current plan is to drive the truck to work tomorrow AM and see if it strands me.

Always a plus when it’s not messing up. But always sucks when you don’t have the actual “why” in the equation.

exactly. I wish I had the answer in my hand so I can make sure it doesn’t happen again, but I don’t. I have two pretty good guesses though.

Sometimes guesses is all we have. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen an issue, messed around a bit only for the issue to never show its ugly face again. I feel defeated every single time, even though it was a win in its own messed up way.

Double dipping with this post but it's nice to make progress on this project. It's too easy to get distracted and I've honestly been a little burnt out.

Got the rear frame brace finished up and mounted. Moving onto mounting the fiberglass bed sides and prepping the axle for the SUA.

For those who have installed the JD SUA kit, what were your pinion angle measurements? I took some prior to disassembly but figured it would be good to compare.

No, if I had to guess, 30-40lbs each? They're solid pieces of metal but more awkward to carry than heavy.

1.5-2* up on the flange from pinion perpendicular to the ground.

I would hope, that goes without saying. But yes. Ride height.

Did you cycle your SUA kit when installed? Curious to know what I'm working with and see if I should cycle. Obviously SHOULD but want to are two different aspects of the conversation.

The JD kit essentially hard mounts the shock mounts into their design. You can't really adjust them. Planning on running a 3.0 EXBP with the rubber bumps that come with the kit. Kind of concerned about clearance on the bypass tubes.
