A C7 Grand Sport. It's like a Z06 without a supercharger. So you don't get heat soak issues.
Run the dog shit out of it all day at a track, and drive it home. And it's affordable.......comparatively.

What do you guys thing of my belief that employers are expecting too much for employers in return for garbage pay? Is inflation to blame, are employers to blame, or is a combination of both?

This is the exact scenario that led to me backing out of the delivery driver job at Domino’s before I even started!

That depends on the employer. For instance, we have a place for burgers (In and Out Burger) that really steps up for their employees. They do company outings, gift drawings, and so much more. Teens start at 17.50 hour and go up to 21.00 hour within 6 months if everything goes as planned.

My dad had a C5 ZO6. It was a fun car to drive.
    The C6 looks good too.

If you can afford it, a C8 would be the better "fun" car.
But I honestly don't think they will ever retain any long term value.
$90K is a lot. And historically, only the ZR1 ahs held any value. Unless we're talking 50'-60' models.

If you like to wrench on things, A C5 or C6 can make some pretty serious power on the cheap.

I'm actually really considering a ZR1. 74k+ is a chunk of change though. I did find a Z06 with a ZR1 drivetrain with 9-1000hp. That takes the fun out of driving when you're fighting for your life all the time. I've driven a 740 hp C6 and spun the tires in the triple digits. I was coughing up seat foam for a week.

Most employees are just that. A person who works for someone else.
They are not friends. They are simply a means to make the company money.
There has to be a medium between expectations and reality.

I wouldn't take it personal. It's just life.
What's unrealistic for me, may not be for someone else.

I'm single. I have one income. I pay all the bills.
$7.25 isn't realistic. Not at any expectation.

That makes sense though. From a business standpoint, it is never wise to pay overtime. As the business it's 1.5 times the pay and rarely if ever does 1.5 more get done on that time. I like getting overtime of course but I understand also it's not to be counted upon, some of my coworkers didn't think about that long ago and it bit them.

Pretty accurate. I'm sure there are some who are just lazy shits but it's not always the case, there are even people at my job who are lazy. That said, in my job it seems those who work hard get the reward of doing stuff that the lazy don't do, so it's a deincentive.

Domino’s was a base pay of $8 per hour plus tips. When it was slow, I was expected to stuff around the kitchen that it was normally not my job to do, for the same shitty pay.

The lowest pay I’ve ever had was $8.50 per hour. That was at Dunkin Donuts back in October 2013, and I lasted three weeks. At Puck, I was making the equivalent of $12 per hour, but when I was officially put on the books as a barback, I grossed more even though I was making $10 per hour because I worked more hours. At Fred Beans, I made the equivalent of $10 per hour at a preset rate based on the size and type of vehicle. I started out making $16 per hour at NAVMAR and was making $19 per hour when I quit.

Lowest I ever had was $6.14
But on paper on it $3.14.

I was a busboy for 3 years in High School.
The servers were "supposed to" share their tips with us.

    It was a weird system.

    Base pay was $3.14
But if the servers "tip shares" didn't bring our (busboys) pay to $6.14 an hour, the company paid the difference up to $6.14
If the severs tip share paid "more" than $6.14 an hour, we got to keep the extra.

I forget what the servers share was, like %15 maybe?
I'll put it to you this way. Any cash tips, were never reported.
And if if they were, they were not reported in full.
And this was in 1999-2001. A lot of people tipped in cash. They even paid in cash.

I don't blame the servers for not reporting all their tips. It was a bullshit scheme by the company.
They didn't want to pay us, they wanted the servers to "pay us"........

Now, for a little lesson in how the world works.
There was a guy that would pay us $20 before shift to "keep his tables clean".
On busy nights, first table opens gets seated. Obviously, the more tables you had, the more tips you made.

Shit......That dude played us and the other servers.
For $20 we had his tables cleaned and ready in less than 3 mins from the time the people got up from eating.
He was getting 2x more table than anyone else.

    Those were some fun times....
You meet some interesting people in the restaurant business..

They even had a bar. I was there when they went to "plastic" mugs.
They used to have frozen glass mugs for beer.
Guy got his dome busted wide open one night by one of those mugs.
    No more glass mugs......

I've ridden in a few Corvette over the years, but I've only driven one, and it wasn't even on a public road. It was in 2018 or 2019, during my brief car detailing career at Fred Beans. The Corvette in question was a gray 2009 coupe with a black leather interior and only 47K miles if I remember correctly. The car was in excellent condition for being about a decade old, but it was just a regular Corvette and the color combo was rather boring in my opinion. Fred Beans rarely ever sells new Corvettes, and this one was a trade-in that somebody was buying. My supervisor handed me the keys and told me had no idea if it was a manual or an automatic; I was told that I could drive the Vette in if it was automatic, but that I was to come and get him if it was manual. I knew how to drive a stick shift by then, and detailers who were skilled in the art of the third pedal were allowed to drive entry-level vehicles like Fords, Nissans, Volkswagens, etc...

However, the policy was that managers had to drive high-end vehicles with three pedals. This included Corvettes and certain Mustangs. I walked out to the Corvette and was happy to find that it was an automatic, as I'd never driven a Corvette before. It was warm that day and the A/C worked great, but my biggest complaint about the car was that it was very low to the ground; I really wished that I could have taken the Vette out on Route 611, but somebody already owned it and that would have been frowned upon. Even in the confines of a parking lot, that Corvette was everything that one would expect a Corvette to be. The engine sounded great and it turned on a dime, but I remember being afraid that I would damage the car on the ramp up to the shop.

The most expensive vehicle that I ever drove at Fred Beans, at least that I can remember, was a brand new $80,000 Lincoln Navigator. The biggest piece of shit I can remember driving is black 2010 Volkswagen Jetta wagon with nonfunctional A/C that was destined for the wholesale lot due to its atrocious condition; I found a rotten apple under the front seat of the VW and actually got into an argument with my boss because the car was disgusting and I didn't want to put the effort into detailing it for the insultingly low sum of money I was making.

I went on a search for the 1999 Mercedes E320 that I detailed at Fred Beans, and ended up finding pics of the shitty black Jetta in the process!

I have to say, the 2 most fun vehicles I owned were a 2001 Ford Lightening and 1999 Civic Si.
The Lightening was a "sleeper" to most people. And there is something about a Supercharger wine that is so satisfying.
Supercharger wine beats a blow-off valve all day.
