I think it's technically legal in MA, at least was. Before selling them, the police have to remove stuff that isn't civilian legal.

I swear that people are getting dumber and dumber by the hour! My parents are presently in Virginia Beach visiting family; Amanda and I both have to work, so she is staying with me at my parents’ house and helping me take care of Porter. I left work just before 3pm to go home and let Porter out…

I had just left the nursing home and was making a left turn from Horsham Road onto Lower State Road; I not only had a green light, but a green arrow as well!

I was making a left, and all of a sudden this guy in a white late model Honda CRV comes moseying across the intersection from my right, going straight. He had obviously run the red light. I hit the brakes and laid on the horn, narrowly avoiding the collision. He slowed to a crawl and looked at me, absolutely dumbfounded as to why I was beeping at him, or why I was even there in the first place. He actually ended up in front of me and was going so slow (while staring back at me), that I just made sure the coast was clear and drove around him. The driver of the Honda was a white guy, but I didn’t get the best look at him, so I’m guessing he was between the ages of 35 and 50; I can only tell you only that, as stated above, he seemed utterly confused about where the guy in the silver truck came from and why that guy was beeping at him. He wasn’t even looking at me as he went through the intersection; I hope the red light camera got his license plate!

Anymore we all have to drive defensively. People are to distracted. Good catch Charlie, your head must be on a swivel!

 

Agreed, guy was probably on a cellphone or something. Back in the 1980's I was on the Parkway headed for Monroeville and a guy beside me had a newspaper spread open on the steering wheel, couldn't believe anyone could be so stupid.

 

I once saw somebody watching a movie on a laptop or an iPad while they were driving!

 

It is amazing at the stupidity level of drivers you see sometimes.

 

The guy in the white Honda who I had an encounter with today legitimately seemed confused...

 

Hard telling what was going on with him, maybe he could have been unfamiliar with the area.

 

In that case, he gets a pass.
Sometimes, confusions gets the best of us.

God knows I've been confused and made mistakes.
Most often when I make a wrong turn and "get lost".

With experience, comes understanding.

 

But he's lucky I was paying attention. Nobody knows the meaning of pure unadulterated anger unless they total a man's truck less than a week before the Carlisle Truck Nationals!

Unfortunately, my dashcam was pointed upwards slightly, but it's still a good video. Yes, I was listening to (and singing along to) Ice Ice Baby, and yes I was in general being a wiseass...



You can clearly see that I had not only a green light, but a green arrow (note the gray Tundra on the other side of the intersection waiting to turn left); I was already more than halfway through the left turn when I realized that the white SUV was not going to stop; I then went around him because I had to get home to let Porter out, and I wasn't in the mood to be stuck behind a driver who was clearly more confused than a football bat (to quote @ColoradoTJ )...

He ever even slowed down for the light.

 

I know it’s dumb, but all I saw was the light turn green; I saw a flash of white out of the corner of my eye and hit the brakes out of reflex. I was purely focused on getting back to my house and letting the dog out, but my light was green, so if a collision had occurred the guy in the Honda would have been screwed.

 

How much is "good money"?
