I am by no means a French press expert. I have the Jetboil setup and I've been working on my technique when camping. I don't do French press at home.

That reminds me... I was going to look at a few other Jetboil accessories. Dammit Rich! :spending:

Not yet. I might try to see if Mex Muffler can reconsider and be reasonable on price. Idk.

My buddy made me a cup with his percolator, and it was good, and very much my style. That’s what got me wondering if I’m doing it wrong with my press.

If it’s just the fact that a percolator will brew a different cup of coffee than a press could, then I may switch to percolator.

Wow... must not think much of those Geolanders at $300... Wow. There will be more soon, but probably not that cheap is my guess.

Looks like some mismatched sets, also.

I was lucky to not have any impact personally. Some of our vendors had issues. It was interesting to watch a feed and chat where I caught different state and health care agencies get back going at different rates.

Most of my personal CrowdStrike experience has been their annoying salespeople.

that sounds right to me and is similar to what I do when using my areopress.
Water should be between 85-90c (185-195f) I do like you and let it boil and cool slightly. Add the water to the grounds and let them “bloom” give a quick stir and then steep for 1:30-1:45 ish. With a second stir at around the minute mark.
It’s easy to vary the strength by adjusting the steeping times or grind size.

Percolator definitely makes a different cup of coffee. I have an old school perc pot at home I will use when I’m feeling nostalgic.

in addition to my aeropress I also have the GSI pour over. I really like the coffee it makes but have found it’s not so good on cold mornings. It takes a bit for the water to drip through and it gets too cold. So that might be a good reason to go with a percolator.

My friend... as you have seen. Lots of coffee, hot water, stir and press. A bit of half and half and let the games begin. I do appreciate how you approach your coffee making, just not in my DNA.

Yeah basically there’s not enough rebound valving to control the spring trying to extend the shock. There’s a fine line with rebound to control movement but not pack up so much that the shock doesn’t extend between hits.

Take all of this with a grain of salt too. I still pay Accutune to set up my initial valving and I’m just a rock donkey that understands some theory and has some shock tools in the shop to play now that my second gen with DSC’s is gone.

Haha! Not right now. I don't think I will do that until maybe a few years down the road if I have a different daily driver.

Well, if you do attempt to negotiate with them, ask for a twofer price. I'm game if you are.

Bought my wife a French press for our recent five week trip to Colorado and she says that the coffee is so far superior to the percolator that she will not be going back. I have never been a coffee drinker so have no opinion on it but she is a coffee connoisseur that roasts her own beans.
