I'd hope somebody who knows something would help me out if I ever ended up in that scenario, so I can't ever convince myself to just turn a blind eye to it if I have the means to hopefully change that outcome.

Gdamn. Thanks for providing aid that's not a fun situation.

Definitely be alert and aware out there. Moto ride yesterday had some idiot in a Mercedes on the PCH make an illegal left hand turn over a double yellow right in front of me across two oncoming lanes of traffic.

I saw it coming was doing 53 (2 under the speed limit) and started rolling off throttle and covering brakes to see if the guy would actually make the turn, sure enough he did. the dude made the left and became a deer in the headlights literally stopping in my lane before rolling through it at like 3mph. Tripped abs in the rear a few times (probably cus the tire was just about to lift off the ground) but never broke the front traction as I brought the bike to a quick panic stop.

He got a few harsh words.

Clearing some space in the closet for gear that Im not using.

Tourmaster Alpine-Trek pants, size XL. Used with a little wear and tear, but all zippers and velcro function, and all CE2 armor included. I think I have the zip in liner somewhere too.

Asking $100 shipped to lower 48.

ive been super tired since last night and didnt get much sleep at all.. so when i rode in today i was running a bit late so i was zooming into work and stopped the bike at the parking lot. turned the bike off and i could have sworn i took the keys well i guess i just dropped them on the ground next to the bike and grabbed my lunch and went inside. so i spent like 30mins looking around the areas i normally walk in the building or go to break until someone said go check your bike lol. no pics sadly since work doesnt allow that here but ya funny little story i guess lol.

Did a few different types of biking disciplines over the weekend, road, some sand dirtbike trails, some enduro trails and then the usual FSR's. Enduro trails were definitely over my ability and the stock tires ability, luckily some of the hill climb trenches were deep enough I could walk the bike up doing a rolling burnout. Those and the dirtbike tracks made me realize that mid boots and a road full face are not correct gear.

Back to the FSR's, road up to an abandoned comm's tower / station and checked out a sketchy looking hang gliding launch. If the road up was in better shape it might get more use and even some TLC.

That looks like a hell of a time. is that a 7 cylinder bike??

oof. that's always rough to deal with. glad you and that FF were there to help.

I feel like summer is always the worst. better weather, more riders, likely many who do not ride during the off season and are still rusty, and so on. I'm in several riding groups and see updates about riders crashing or dying almost daily I feel like.

lol at least you didn't leave the bike turned on! I did that once. never again.

Went back to the track this past weekend. Took another 2.5 seconds off my PB. Rewarded myself with a set of Pirelli Supercorsa SC3 V4s.

Thunderhill! I'd like to try Sonoma and Laguna eventually but they're expensive and I already know this track so I can work on body positioning and timing.

You make that bike look tiny! Awesome pics! I wish I'd gotten to ride Laguna, it's so cool. The corkscrew is intense

I'm a rather large (read as "round") human at 5'10" 285 lbs. Hoping to start losing more weight to feel more comfortable on the bike.

The corkskrew is definitely intense, but it pales in comparison to turn 1. That shit is fuckin scary. Pucker factor is off the charts.

It was a good time for sure. Was probably the busiest I have seen in many years. I thought the whole bike prices were very high. Cheap stuff sold quick, but there were a lot of guys taking bikes back home this year.

What makes turn 1 so intense? They usually are, turn 1 at the local track here, Pacific Raceways, you are full throttle 6th gear pinned, aim for the corner of a wall to barely miss before breaking into a huge left turn 2, it's scary to hold it open through. Portland has almost a mile straight into a very slow turn 2, but plenty of brake markers, but you could easily hit 200 first. Thunderhill doesn't have much of a straight, probably the least scary turn 1 I've ridden
