    Hello all

I’ve installed fox coilovers on my 2017 TRD OR…but after installing I am getting no compression at all on front end (even with a 150lbs steel bumper). I checked the springs and these appear to be 16” 450 weight springs…wth?!?! Is this correct? Has anybody else had this issue?

Not sure what you mean. With the vehicle on level ground, at ride height the shocks dont move?

Thanks, sorry for the Confusion! When I installed these shocks and let the truck off the jack stands, they don't compress at all (the shocks are fully extended). Even with my son and I climbing onto the bumper, the shocks do not compress.

From what I can tell, the springs are incorrect (16" springs on a shock that uses 13" springs). I also noticed that the part number on the shock body is different than the box. The box states PN 880 - 02 - 361 but the shock says 980 - 02 - 361. I suspect I have been sent the wrong part.

Did you make preload adjustments before installing them?

16" long spring is unusual. And with how much thread you have shown on those coilovers, makes me think you are completely maxed out with way too much preload now allowing the spring to compress.

At full extension, I would suggest reducing preload to get the spring length to be closer to 12.5" in length. Use this diagram to help

The part number on the shock is specific to the single shock SKU. The SKU on the box refers to a pair of single shocks.

Thanks! The shocks came at about 11.5" length at full extension. I didnt touch them except to turn the adjustment screw around to forward.

The part number on the spring indicates that it is a 16" 450 lb spring, but at 11.5" this is still close to double the preload from the 13" 600lb spring that typically comes on these shocks. Even with the spring backed off, I don't think the 450lb spring will work for my tacoma given the steel bumper, etc.

    What exactly is 11.5 inches?

My 12.5" comment is specifically about the spring length on the coilover when the coilover is extended all the way, completely extended no weight on it.

The spring rate is still throwing me off, so this may deserve a phone call to Fox directly to make sure everything is correct. Unfortunately I do not have spring specs for that specific SKU, typically we see a 13" or 14" x 600 LB spring.
