How much room you going to have in the back of your truck? I can check on the bigger smoker, if not I have a little small one.

 

@Merling @Brownmatthall and I are planning to meet up in OOB and head up Saturday the 10th.
Matt and I will be up there, was thinking to leave at like 8AM but James gotta come up first so that might be delayed a bit

@nuts4modela sent me a PM the other day but I was out of the house for the weekend.
So yeah we can all plan to meet up in OOB for the ride north from there too on Saturday the 10th.

 

Anyone heading up Thursday/Friday let me know and if I can hold off, we can head up together

Why you bringing fire pit?

and tonneau makes it a no go on the smoker.

Unless someone else has bed space, small smoker it will be.

also pm your number and I’ll let you know where I land. Looking at the numbers, I’m going to see about some other spots than the pit at Spencer.

 

It's a small one I can set up, take coals from, and set up to cook over.
I haven't meal planned yet, but if I have anything I want to cook low and slow over a fire, I'll have that.
It folds up too so it's small and easy to shove in the bed.

It's a tri fold tonneau I can leave open for the ride up. I'd just close it when we get to camp to keep some stuff (relatively) dry.

Looks like 9 trucks + 1 trailer (Connors) at max shenanigans.

2 Trailers? Pulled by a poor fj with two big dogs. I think 14-16

 

TBD on Austin I thought. If it is then it's 10+2 trailers.

Unless a lot of these unknowns (Will, Chris, Austin) come through, right now the peak shenanigans is 9 w/ 1 trailer. Austin would make it 10 and 2.

I put him in as the same timeframe as you, even if they bail earlier.
Same with Brian - I put through to Sunday, I know he said they might be an earlier departure.



So then peak would be 11+1 trailer (I think Connor is going no trailer)

 

Hes out, and tiff and I are gunna be Friday - Friday. We will probably cruise around the woods a couple days too.

I changed you but kept WOODS for everything in between. Come and go as you please, maybe we'll put you in a site with someone else then, I dunno, we'll figure it out.

I think I might go for a day trip Wednesday or Thursday - maybe do a whole lap of Moosehead or something, would put me through Greenville where I can restock on groceries/snacks/beer/wine.

Currently between jobs, with a buncha irons in the fire at the moment. I’ll check back here as it gets closer and maybe crash y’all’s base camp for a night or two if I can

move tried to do this with out going into NMWs, can’t seem to make it happen yet.

also, weather dependent I’d love to go up Thursday and increase our chances for some better sites.

 

If I wasn't hosting matt I'd be flexible enough to go up Thursday

I don't mind paying for day use it's like 15$. The route around that I THINK you might be thinking of is an ATV trail at best, maybe impassible.

I did see a post that the golden road was closed.



I'll map out a probable route and check it out for closures.
