Looks like an awesome place, very nice!! I miss having bikes but it's a good thing because I had no fear of twisting my wrist and putting it into corners. Probably would have bit the dust had I continued on that path. Glad to have traded for slow speeds, long distances, and far away remote places.

Confucius say "Crowded elevator smell different to little person." Sometimes all you need is to step back and take a deep breath when looking at problems. The very good news Tacomas can take a shit ton of abuse comparatively to other vehicles and still keep on tickin'. Glad you found the problem and also the fix!

Dang that thing does look beefy. Not surprised after having used their sliders. Out of all the armor vendors I think theirs are the most over-engineered I've seen which is generally a good thing.

Just a hint, nay, a patina that your mighty trail champion can wear as a badge so as not to be mistaken for the average mall crawler.

And there's another that could possibly gain from a mod party...if he'll reach out. Say the word, man! ( I know, I know...so much other sh$t going on...)

Appreciate the offer as always lol and yes I am notoriously slow sometimes. This year has been a colossal clusterf*#$ for me and Taco mods have been sacrificed for now. It's all good, eventually it will get done, and I'm okay being the tortoise for now. In lots of ways it's good I haven't made progress because if my attention shifted to another vehicle or project I'd be like "OOH SQIRREL!" and people would put me on a milk carton.

Our unofficial motto at work is, "We never have time to do it right but we always have time to do it again".

We still have to wait and see what kind of work @Pixeltim 's back alley Dan the Muffler Man does.

Our shop has a slightly different motto…
    “Perfect is good enough.”

We hate redo jobs with a passion :)

I've worked at an electrical shop that operated that way. Just run all day and fix it later. They had a guy whose main job was running around fixing other people's fuck-ups. I did NOT fit in very well. o_O

This seems like a good philosophy. :D

This!!! Although, I do admit that good enough is often perfect in my world.

Ultimately, how does one instill that work ethic in youngsters today so we don't implode as a society???? My daily quandary...

Me too but Customers, Sales, Prod. Man. and Prepress never check anything.
It isn't until it gets to press when I see wrong pics. bad layout. missing info.
It should never make it this far when so many eyes are checking things before hand.

    I'm a button pusher not a proofer! :D

I worked at a place like that for a year and a half. In management meetings I always brought up that every person that touches a job should double check to make sure everything was right. It's par easier and cheaper to fix a job earlier in the process. He refused and said that it's every persons job to do their part right, not double check the previous person's work.
    He went bankrupt.

Not to stray too far off the coffee clutch.
Iced is how I do it in the summer.
Use about as many grounds as most would use for a pot, for a 10oz glass. :D If I use more I'll be eating coffee grounds.
    Is it dark enough?

Sounds like a few of you have had the same exhaust cross over skid rattle that I fixed this last weekend too. I pulled it off and did some bending with an old giant pipe wrench and a breaker extension. That got it off of the exhaust but just barely with a couple millimeters of clearance. I had a box of galvanized washers that I used when building my deck. Added a few of those and I'm happy with it, until I smack another rock at least. So nice to start up the truck and not hear that awful rattle.

One of my favorite therapeutic sayings is “perfect is the enemy of good”. I tend to avoid things that I don’t think I’ll be able to execute perfectly…therefore I avoid A LOT of things lol. This little saying helps me get over it and get something done. Sometimes “functional and ugly” is better than wondering forever how to make something perfect.

I’ll admit, this saying best applies to one-off jobs, and for those learning a skill. I don’t want that attitude on Boeing making the 737s I’m going to fly on lol

I have that same phobia. Some projects that should take a few hours end up sitting for very extended periods of time, basically until I've worked out in my mind how to execute it to a level of quality my brain can accept. Kinda sucks really.

I'm no mathematician but you forget he has to pay the 35" tire tax so divide that by three LOL.

I haven't used Amsoil, but I hear that the squeeze bags are pretty handy. Do you order yours or is there somewhere you pick it up locally?
