Got it from the guy I bought my place from. Gas powered, change the oil (1qt) annual, grease the pulley and let it rip. It makes short runs like a golf course, occasional drunk run back down the driveway which explains the headlight....

Yep same here.... My woods are way overgrown. Wife wants them left alone.
Keep telling her that we could selectively clean it up & help the other trees out..... But she wants that wall of creepyness all around our property. :)

Had another flat tire on the B7100:confused:. I would imagine that the front tires are a least 20 years old along with all the thorns in them:rolleyes:, that keep popping the tubes. Sooo ordered 2 new 6x12's 6 ply and tubes. Will drop everything off as soon as they arrive.

Have you thought about taking your tires to the CO-OP to have them pump some sealant goo? Around here blackthorn trees are a an issue, my leak issues abated quickly once I did that.

Yes. But the guy we use has tried everything. Pounding the thorns out. The biggest thing is the wheels/rims are rusty from being over 40 years old so we have to use tubes. Plus the tires are kinda worn out and 4 ply. Upgrade will be nice.

Have you tried sanding and repainting the wheels?

Mine would hold enough air to be useful for about 3 weeks, then if you didn't refill it, the pressure would drop low enough to pop the bead. I tired bead sealant thinking it was a bent rim issue. When I finally took my tire down to the co-op, they found at least 6 pin holes in the tire. Pretty annoying issue!

Their pretty bad inside my tire guy has tried sanding. I hope I can watch him change em out. The tires on it now are 4 ply and only about 1/2 inch on the bars the new ones will be 6 ply, I'm gonna try this first to see how long it lasts. Last resort is gonna be new rims which are available for double the price of tires each.
He even asked me if I wanted to load them, but I reminded him I have a FEL he laughed and said ok just carry some rocks around. He's pretty cool all he works on is tractors OLD ones he restores. The tires are a side thing. Next time I go there I'll try to get some pictures of stuff he's working on. Should be in the next couple of days.
I really need to invest in tire tools.

Some dedicated tire tools would be nice to have, but I can't justify the dollars. So far I've managed to get by with some crowbars and large screwdrivers.

Hey if the rims are rusty to the point of pinpoint holes?

You can always solid fill the tires.... If you don't want weight.... You can foam a fill them.

I foam filled some wheelbarrow tires for my Aunt Shirley a couple years ago. It's worked pretty good but she doesn't move a lot of weight. I'm not sure how it would hold up under the weight of a tractor w/FEL.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
With the recent conversation regarding Kohler ignitions, Perhaps someone can help on this issue.
A K582 23hp flat twin is fitted to my Bolens HT-23. That engine is a points/ coil design with a single coil. A "wasted spark" setup. That means, one of the plugs sees a coil polarity the wrong way. And it shows, with hard starting in cold weather, and one spark plug "fouling out" before the other. I've gotten into the program of swapping plugs with the seasons, but I still have quite a collection of dead plugs.
I've not seen anywhere on the net an ignition upgrade for these old engines.
Maybe it's just poor electrical connections in general. Heck, Honda ran single coil setups on multi-cyclinder motorbikes without issues... (I think ;-)
