PS: Torino's with anything in them we're insane. I remember them. Straight-six 300's, 302's, 351's 2bbl/4bbl, 390's and the ultimate: Lincoln 460...Even in the Wagons! I know the Ford Country "X" wagons in the late 60's and early '70's had the the Ford 460 in them and pretty sure the crazy Torino's did too. (and maybe the 429 too)

One of my first cars was a 71 Torino 500. 302 V8. I regret selling that car for $2k.
    :bananadead:

My close buddies dad is known as the ford doctor, and has several Torinos. His 68 with a big block is fast! I think it's a 390 or 429. 68 Torino GT.

    Edit:
We need a Ford classic car/muscle car thread. I'm currently slowly building up a 1974 Ford Maverick.

AFAIK: Those insane Torino's had every engine that the "Big Dog's" had: 302/390/428/429CJ ... name it in various tunes. Not sure about the 460 Lincoln. It was war against the Chevy SS World. I do know that Ford stuffed the 390 and 429 into their wagons and the Lincoln Mark II 460 into some of their grocery-getters as well.
I'll have to confirm, but I recall seeing "460" next to the front side marker lamps as well.

My buddy's mom had ones of those. We called it the Mad Dick. I don't think I ever saw it leave the driveway.

somewhat unrelated, but also totally related....

I think I mentioned a Lincoln Mark II somewhere previous in the thread. It was actually a Mark III (my error) with the Lincoln 460 that one my Uncles owned. What a beautiful car that was. He handed me the keys to it when I was only about 18 to go to the store and get some groceries for the the cookout he was having. Ford also put that engine in their pick-ups for a time in the 60's and 70's. Same 460 big block AFAIK.
