Isn't that the case for any trailer? This one at least has a trailer jack built in to the front so I can unhitch the thing while it's loaded up if needed.

Also it came with a spare. Definitely would not be fun to have to change it, though.

Definitely not a wearer. This one is more of a collectable than anything else. Between my dad and myself, we have a nice little collection of helmets and various other memorabilia. He has all the really nice stuff like race worn and signed helmets, suits, gloves, boots, etc.

yeah, I was on an adventure once with a friend doing a rally sort of thing and had a 2nd bike and were "towing" home a bike for another rider, and got a flat had to unload everything on the trailer to flip it up and get the tire up and off the thing was a pain! now that trailer has a 2nd spare on the front now and that is the first tire to be pulled we have decided

I might just strap the spare to the top of the box vs bolting it to the bottom.

It's been going around again here pretty strong. Almost everyone I know has had it recently. Unfortunately seems to be about a 10 day suck

Maaaan, a coughing or sneezing fit inside a helmet? Nah. Just getting an itchy nose is bad enough

That sucks, I've had it twice now myself. First time was the worst, second time was more like a bad cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Anyone using a free based tracker app with any luck? Looking at something that simply sends last recorded GPS coordinates to a designated person. Tried Google Maps location sharing and it is extremely slow, and drops off for anyone following as soon as I drop out of service. Trying to avoid Garmin Inreach level for now as all trips are within an hour of the city.

I use Bubbler GPS combined with Spotwalla. Bubbler GPS is a tracking app for Android phones, no Iphone version is offered. Spotwalla.com is the website then tat will take data from Bubbler and plot it on a map so people can follow you. I use it for long distance rallies but also for traveling so folks can follow along if they want. Last week in this thread I posted my Spot link so you all could follow me to Ohio. Bubbler GPS app I did pay for the Pro version as it allows tracking at shorter intervals. Spotwalla used to be donation based but he has now made it a pay service due to increased costs but it's only about $25 per year and I fell worth every penny. Below is the Spot track for my recent Ride Around PA Iron Butt ride with @FreshOldTaco so you can see what it looks like.

No service means no updates for all these trackers afaik. Which maybe riding around town isn't a big deal but being out in the woods or nowhere it isn't going to work anyways

If you have any questions just PM me so we avoid clogging this thread with stuff that may not matter to others. Be happy to help you out. As stated I use it for Iron Butt rides as it helps speed up the verification process since it's right there on a map. It's nice too for family or significant other so they know where you are and that you're safe.

You're partially correct. Bubbler will store data until signal is regained then it will send all the stored data and catch you up. I agree it's not a perfect system but short of buying a true Spot satellite tracker and paying an annual subscription it works pretty well. Biggest real advantage to the actual Spot branded devices is that being satellite the signal issue goes away but also you can set up a one button SOS message that in the event of an accident will dial 911 and alert your specified contact person by phone, text, and email.

Service is intermittent typically where I end up, so if anything can be sent when signal is regained that works. Main use case for now is so others can see where I am / was, and if I'm still out on a trail or area, or headed back. Saves me the effort of stopping and checking for reception, and then sending the text. When I'm able to do longer trips or even multi days I will go back to the InReach. Worked great for 4x4 trips when I was doing those, but not worth the subscription service of being an hour away and mostly in reception.
