build date to delivery ?

What does it mean when the in transit message changes from 8/2/2024 to 8/15/2024 to contact dealer to confirm availability date?

 

Could mean it got hit with a quality check hold or shot up by the cartel. Or a lot of other things.

 

Mine was built June 12 in Baja, delivered to Connecticut July 9th.

 

Geeze. Mine was 22 days from Baja to Montana. Connecticut must be on the other side of the continent.

 

Well it came by train and had to stop in every state along the way from Cali to here.

 

I am currently waiting for my Trailhunter. The dealer said it has been built and arrived via rail but Toyota won't allow him to deliver it to me.
Couple weeks has been said for more than a month.

 

Because?

 

He says something with Toyota; hmmmm?

 

Mine was built 6/5. Still waiting with no real date in sight. Stuck in QCH - quietly cancelled hopes.

If you’ve been waiting I’d suggest divorcing yourself from one dealership and start surfing inventories online. I’ve never seen this many Tacomas on the ground, and for that matter, any time when dealers were more anxious to offload a Tacoma.

Unless it’s a Pro or TH, just look around, work a few dealerships for their best offers, and call your shot. For most of us, a little road trip is worth $5000 off MSRP.

 

ive been chasing a hybrid offroad... in one of 2 colors.. after working 6 dealers and telling my local dealer i wanted my cash that i had put down on one back, they were magically able to dealer trade for one being built for a dealer 5 hours away from me in grandrapids. that one has a build date from 8-5 /8-11.

 

Got an update. Mine got to the port in Mexico on 7/16 and is still there

 

dealer in Hilo says my th was built in may. I am on the Big Island, Hawaii, at the end of a lonnnggg supply chain. sez the first TRD Pros are in Honolulu and maybe? about to get shipped to Hilo. No word on the Trailhunters, but maybe later Aug or Sept. Any other Big Islanders here? There were 6 allocations for TH when I put down my deposit months ago.

sales man said mine was built on 8-6. hybrid TRD off road.

 

Build date: 6/24. Bought the truck 7/27 from a dealer. It had 14 miles on it, so I figure it went for a couple test drives in the week or so it spent on the lot.

 

how acurate has guys estimated delivery to dealer after being built been? mine was built 8-6 and on train 8-12. with delivery first estimate between 8-24/9-7 now it has to 9-11 which is today... and if yours was late did your dealer give you any reason / new estimate?

 

I would think that it would be any day now for you. I am in TN and bought a Baja built truck. Not sure when in July it was built but I bought it a month ago today and it was on the lot for a week. So in a 5 week time period it was built, shipped to port, had a bunch of add ons added, and shipped to dealer.
