Toyota has the Tundra hybrid no reason for them to cannibalize that option. Anyone who wants a hybrid long bed will pony up for the Trailhunter, or buy the Tundra hybrid 6' bed. Toyota could always offer a LB hybrid Tacoma, I think the only way that happens is if sales plummet, and when the 4G gets long in the tooth. Toyota will offer plenty of SUV that are for the most part mechanically the same, but Toyota sells lots of SUV.

I dont disagree. I'd be paying more than I should for a TH-LB and not using any of gimmicky (useful to some) features. I guess you'd get some of it back on resale, though.

Long beds 4th gens look so much better than 2nd and 3rd gens. That’s a nice looking truck. Bronze oxide is such a nice color. How does it drive? does it feel more like a full size? Thinking a LB trail hunter might be in my future, but I’ve never owned a vehicles with a wheelbase that long.

I had a 2019 LB and now A 24 LB. The 24 definitely feels bigger and turns bigger. Full size might be a stretch but for sure bigger.

Agree, I liked the proportions of the short bed on my 3g but the 4g looks better in long bed format. It’s long, longer than the 3g wheel base but not full size long. Also the engine is so much peppier than the previous gen’s it feels a lot better to drive. The fourth gen sits pretty high but it’s still narrow enough to feel like a Tacoma

Ordered mine exactly how i wanted it as soon as they announced the 2024 Tacoma from my local Servco dealership on Kauai. Waited about 1 year in Hawaii.

I have spent an unreasonable number of hours thinking about long beds. I got a 5’ bed 3rd gen double cab, because my family grew. Many times I missed the extra bed space of my 1st gen, but still always got the job done somehow. Managed to haul king beds, yards of mulch, sheets of plywood, camping gear, etc.

That truck died and now I’m shopping for a new one. I thought I’d certainly get a long bed, and the extra foot will be sooo nice. Come to find out you can’t get a 6MT double cab longbed. What the hell, man!? What a choice! I’m torn, manuals are so cool.

I went in with my '23 for an estimate and fell in love with the '24 LB OR they had on the lot. Traded that day. Too easy since I wasn't looking to do that. I was even anti '24 until I test drove it.

Manuals are so cool? I've been driving them since high school but I'm done now. Tired of backing uphill with a clutch.

In the old days automatics were a PIA and unreliable. Bad gas mileage, clunky shifting, you had to stand on the brakes to keep it from going 30 mph, ATF leaks everywhere., and they were toast after 75k miles. They're better now so the next truck I get will have an automatic. And a long bed.

It took a while plus homework but but we got TRD OR long bed week before last with few to none like it coming to our region soon. Most in upper midwest states are or were more base or loaded with things we didn't want. Western states have far more like ours with upgrade, mud guards and 400 watt AC inverter. More TRD long beds in general.

The Kissmygritts app in GitHub plus SmartPath @banks mentioned were key. There's a Power BI dashboard that's been posted here that shows the breakdown by model and colors. The all of it - what is stocked where, getting some builds - wasn't much different than long ago searching for my 1999 a lot like what became TRD Offroad models. That was manual transmission in addition to locker and heavy duty stuff.

For the looks debate, I have a strong bias based on functionality. Any compromises or bother for getting the longer vehicle won't be problems or annoying like unable to do the job.

If all goes well I'll be picking up a red LB off-road in two weeks. I have a deposit down on one that has yet to show up.

Were you able to negotiate a price or is it locked at MSRP since it was not on the lot?
