Glad you had a good time. To get the true experience you have to camp in the camping area. It is crazy around the clock. I did that years ago, and now I live about an hour and a half away so I just go home at the end of the day.

Nothing like camping out at the races for the weekend! Having camped out for the moto races at Laguna Seca for the better part of the last quarter century, I've got some good stories. I just has to be experienced!

I know my wife appreciated that, although told me she only checked it once or twice that day was too nervous seeing how far we were going. Also nice pics from Ohio sounds like a fun event!

I’ve been there since last Thursday, easily the worst I’ve had Covid. Hoping this ends soon.

Ohio was definitely my "happy place" LOL. Motorcycles everywhere you looked and every variety you could imagine. Meeting Wendy Crockett was cool and especially getting to just stand there and BS with her for almost 30 minutes uninterrupted. I will attend again at some point. Just over 5 hours for me so roughly 7 from your place......

EDIT: Nevermind... if it's you, you're in Wyoming, lol. Little far. I'm planning to meet a local guy about a CB500X this weekend... :fingerscrossed:

Very cool you got to meet her! I would go we should make a plan for it.

Also if you're interested in doing a trackday you should come with me on 8/19. It's a Monday I'm taking off work. You could get another race track pic for that challenge you're doing too...

This is the third time getting it, first time was terrible, second time wasn't so bad but this time is almost as bad as the first. :(

It's a wonder I made it through the track day!

I'm not surprised, this one seems to be worse than whatever I got last time as well. At least I don't have to work for the next few days.

I wish! I can barely eat anything or move lol

yeah this is basically me for the past 3-4 days now.

Thanks! Yeah the second time was a lot easier on me as well but this time is worse. :(

Oof, hope you feel better soon too!

Suppose the "restart" transmitting is useful but still not if there isn't service

The one and only time I have gotten COVID literally new years day at the start of 2022, I was meh for like 2 days on the couch with a mild fever for like 6 hrs, back up an at em at about 80% on day 3 and fully better a week later *knocks on wood* I got strep throat 2 years before that that was 10x worse by far.

*puts on tinfoil hat* Working at the same institution for over 10 yrs with hundreds of employees and thousands of students (higher education). I can absolutely say that BEFORE the mandated jabby jabs (yup they mandated the initial series AND the first booster at my previous place of employment - i told em to pound sand heres a doctors note) everyone seemed to be A LOT healthier... these days it seems to be that everyone is getting sick way more often and with way worse shit - EMS calls to campus in the last 2-2.5yrs are easily up 5-8x. The campus has ~ a 98% "up to date" covid "vaccination" rate. I cant tell you how many coworkers / students expressed deep regret to abiding by the mandates.

I will say by far the best time i had moto riding was during the shitshow of covid, in CA especially LA county you literally had to have fuggin papers stating that you were an "essential worker" and or prove you were doing an "essential task" if you were pulled over out and about. Me and a few buddies would blast all over the malibu area without a care in the world cus no one was on the road and we had our essential worker papers. It was wild to see everything so empty - a motorcyclists dream.

The whole thing was a shit show of sad and tyranny.

So question for you all on Enduro bikes

    2016 Yamaha 450fx-modded for trails

2018 husky Fx450- all stock minus plastics and higher hours

2017 KTM 350xcf owned by a 73 year old dude all original in great shape

I know two are more Enduro trail bikes the husky is the one I don't know a lot about.

Husky or ktm. A 350xcf has plenty of power for trails. 450s are honestly too much. Less is more on the trail.

I need to vent a bit. And since this involves the bike..here goes :D

So I was putting the handguards on my bike this past weekend. I had it in the wheel chock without the straps. Made it all the way through. While I was inside putting up my tools, the bike fell over into my truck. It caused $4100 worth of damage(got into my rocker guard). I have my bike fully insured through Progressive b/c it was cheaper to have it separate than adding it to my auto/home policy with State Farm.

Progressive tells me that I can't be liable to myself since I own the truck, so they won't pay for the fix. I was told I'd have to file it on my auto policy. The rep said it keeps people from claiming insurance and pocketing the money. I told him I didn't care, pay the body shop and what keeps me from pocketing the money from State Farm(called them and they said "No problem, send us the estimate and we'll take care of it").

I asked the Progressive rep what happens if I run my truck into my house? Who pays since they are on the same policy. He said my homeowners would pay. I said "Per you, I can't be liable to myself"

Luckily, my best friend is a lawyer, so he's taken it over. Fucking shitty insurance companies.

Pic of handguards after falling over :D

That's honestly what I was thinking when it comes to CC size on the trails. I was looking for a 250fx as well but saw the modded 450fx. I did find a 250fx for a decent price but it's missing plastics?? So kinda makes me wonder what's going on there...

I would like a husky or KTM personally for a trail bike with the power and modern stuff they have on them. 2 stroke or 4 stroke tbh I don't really have a preference to either one.

I had a yz450f. Now I know the fx has estart and 6 speed but I'd never recommend a 450. If anything I'd suggest a wr450 but I really think they are "heavy".

4 strokes tend to turn heavy. It's a noticeable difference. I know I will personally not go back to a 4 stroke for woods riding. Not even sure if I would for mx.

Whatever you want definitely get estart.

That would be cool but I've got all of my remaining vacation days for the year booked. I'm off Friday the 16th and we're heading out to Johnstown, PA with another couple I've known for years and staying at their place. I'd love to do a track day but with which bike? LOL. The Buell would actually be the smart choice but the fear of dumping it with how hard parts are to get......Not cool.
