I am perusing through some diagrams on AllData but having an issue trying to understand how the electrical diagrams terminate. In particular, I am looking through an Auto Dimming Mirror/Garage Door Opener mirror diagram.(Attached) I understand the wire junctions, the colors even the locations but unsure how to interpret the specific connection back to the ECU. In this case, the purple shaded area (or gray as it may show) says ECU-IG No. 2. I assume the 51 where the connection comes in is the actual pin number? Just confused as to how to understand where this comes in and whether this is a harness? I assume it goes up into the liner but I cannot find part numbers for it etc. Thanks for any help.

The shaded area means it's part of the PCB, traces and such. Relay is soldered to PCB, not readily removable. 51 is the slot number on connector 1A.

Makes sense. Thank you. I have been trying to determine the differences in the wiring harnesses. I thought I would be able to find the harness for this piece and run it into the headliner. Your clarity seems to indicate that the relay not being on the circuit board may make that impossible. Am I right on that? I am much more familiar with F-150’s and Ford really doesn’t run different harnesses just what plugs in.

What is it you are trying to do?
Technically, power goes OUT from pin 51 to the rearview mirror.
If you notice, there is also a connector between the 1A and the rearview mirror. It's connector IN1 pin 14.
Again, nit sure what you are doing. But IN1 may be easier to access.

Again, gray area means PCB (circuit board), relay is soldered to PCB.

In short looking to see if I can add the auto dimming mirror to the truck. And the level of effort.

Have you looked to see if the harness is already there? I added an auto dimming mirror on my 2nd gen. The harness was there on pretty much every trim level. Just had to get the mirror. Recommend this guy...

Thank you all. That was part of my curiosity as well. Whether the harness is the same from trim to trim, just a matter of whether things are plugged in. I have also read a few threads on things like part assist and BSM. The modules seem somewhat reasonable, I guess compared to FOMOCO, but I looked underneath my son’s truck and there is no harness under his rear bumper for the park sensors to plug into. So started to think perhaps the harnesses are indeed different or perhaps a pigtail type harness but I could not find a part number for those. Just the modules etc.

This wasn't under the rear bumper?

That's the tailgate camera connector, look near center of rear bumper driver's side.

Unless I am blind. You can see the seven pin trailer connection. And the one right above. Should be there correct?

Well thanks for the help. Went with the Anytime camera system which will help at least with knowing where the front bumper is for parking.
