I have recently switched to a 305/70/17 on my 3" lift and got the cab mount chopped...... I am not rubbing at all where the cab mount is now...... I cant say the same for the front though..... time for an AP front bumper.

here are a few pics for now... will have better ones up soon.

depends how far you chop 'em back. here's mine with 305's. they still rub a bit when the wheels are cranked and the suspension's active, but i didn't chop the mounts as far as i could have.

this is what they looked like after the cut

    and after they're boxed back

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.

I have 2.5" of lift with 285/75/16 with stock UCAs and stock wheels with Spidertrax wheel spacers and I don't rub at all. I haven't chopped my body mount.

I am planning on using a reciprocting/sawzall saw do my cab mount chop this weekend. Is this an ideal way to do it? - I don't have any other DIY options.

And do I need to have a that vertical plate welded back in place or can I wheel it for a while without welding that piece back in there?

    Thanks!

Use a angle grinder with a cutting wheel on it. that is what we used. i think the space is to small for a sawsall! Just my opinion.:D

Im tryin to save some money and just do it myself; but what do they charge for something like that?

Ya I've been hearing that the angle grinder may be the way to go.
