    Morning all:

Just thinking, can't believe it's the end of July already.

Bucktails, saw the Chevy II you posted on car porn. A guy I know built a clone with a 427 in it and was contacted and told to remove the decal, think it had something to do with copyright infringement.

Cannot find an update on the fires this morning, but it appears there are several across the state that started in the last couple of days. Colorado had been containing them very well until now. No local news updates seems strange. Waiting in our own Twilight Zone.
Good news is they didn’t order any additional evacuations overnight!
Kettlebell day! Then finish my solar install on my Super Pacific. Just need to load my EcoFlow and refrigerator to test everything out.
100 again today! Bad for firefighters! Air filled with smoke, so I likely won’t be outside without a mask.
Have a great day all! Thanks for your concerns!

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Thankfully, no fires here - just humid and heat. Going to the Hangar today, but just to drop off some cookies for after lunch, and check on things. Hoping for more gradual improvement with my legs, so I can get back next week. Feel better, but absolutely no stamina in them.

    Everyone stay safe!

    Good morning all,
Finally some smoke from the Park Fire this AM.
Waiting for FedEx to take a parcel to the Postal Service, was shipped using Smart Post. Shipped out over two weeks ago from back east to me in the west. Don't know how often they drop packages at USPS.

Stirred up a hornets nest today, literally. Spotted a ground nest this morning while looking out a window. Sprayed carb cleaner on them, didn’t faze them much. Finally cut into the hole with my shovel. This afternoon thought I would do more damage. Wrong. Evidently opened up a side hole, finally had something hit me, then felt a sting on my neck. Will have to get something to put on them. Surprised I had not noticed it before. A few days ago I saw some wasps handiwork in a nest under one IBC tote, looked like something growing. :). I have a bunch in the eaves of my pump house, but don’t worry about those.

Wasps are plentiful this year. We were getting multiples at our hummingbird and oriole feeders. They especially like the oriole units. I wish the birds would learn to reach out and "touch" them.

We have a long empty house next door with some old outbuildings. The place is old enough that one of the buildings is an outhouse and the other a coal shed. We investigated and there were probably over a hundred old nests and I'd bet fifty active ones. We've made three trips and were still finding active nests, but each time less. I felt funny the first time after inhaling the wasp spray.

So be careful. Stings can be no joke too. Keep some allergy meds available.

    Evening all:

When I find a ground nest I wait until after dark when they are all in there, then pour gas in the hole and lay a gas trail to light, works every time!

Just a little story from my younger days. My dad and I went up to the mountains to cut firewood. We were up the hill from the truck and decided to roll the logs down the hill instead of carrying them down. Well....we rolled several logs over a wasp.hornet nest and they were pissed! I thing I was stung/bit 23 times and my dad had at least as many. I shed my flannel on the way down the hill as they got inside my shirt. Fortunately neither of us were allergic but neither of us were brave enough to back up for the logs or my shirt! LOL

I’ve been stung many times, but has been quite a few years. I’ve had my arm swell up maybe over 40 years ago when I was working on my property. Have had them get under my hard hat when working with loggers one summer. I’ll have to do something if it cools down enough in mornings.

    Morning all!

I haven't been to the pond since last Thursday. I didn't catch anything!! Not a single bite not a miss. I threw everything I had with me.

So I'm leaving soon and I guess we'll see what happens.

    Have a good day!!

Picked up a small bottle of power steering fluid yesterday, while at Wally-world. Been a while since I've been in the store. It's completely different. Not any better, just different. Still only one cashier open, people waiting, kids crying, employes still huddled in the middle of the main aisle, two older ladies asking which way is out... and so it goes. Glad to escape with my sanity intact.

I’ve been in there before, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Never realized it was a clothing optional retail store
