Depends on the age the big thing I want is fuel injection lol. Before I bought my cruiser I was looking at a 300cC XCW that was nice but it sold right when I got my cruiser lol

I'll take my carb 2t over a FI one any day (mine was FI before)

That's odd why would you choose carb over FI? For me I'm very done with carb bikes lol

    1. It (the bike) is lighter (significantly). Ktm quoted 7lbs but I think it's more.

    2. There is no sensor to affect fueling. ktm FI 2 strokes essentially use map sensors and they fail occasionally.

    3. I can adjust jetting however I please and get the bike to run slightly different. Super easy to adjust.

    4. It's cheaper to "tune" a carb than it is FI that until recently required most people to ship their ecu out.

    5. Carbs don't really fail.

    That being said I wouldn't buy a 4T that wasn't fuel injected

I agree with this. 2 stroke motors are simple as fuuu, keep it simple with a carb. (Love my 2 stroke carbed Jetski motors - single carb 650 and dual carb 701 Yamaha motors), I feel like the 2 stroke premix helps keeps things fresh inside the carb WAY longer than 4 stroke.

But yeah if going 4 stroke FI alllllllllll day long.

Ah interesting tbh I'd prob still go FI over carb but that's just because all the bikes and ATVs have been carb and I'm overly done with it lol

Single carb has been pretty simple for me to tune and keep running properly. Once it gets to be more than one carb, then I'm out.

It's not hard no I just find it annoying lol. All my bikes up until both of my 03 ATV and dirtbike everything was from the 90s and carb and I'm just overally done with it unless it was a good price ya know lol

Watch out for plastic oil pump gear failures on gas gas / beta.

surpisingly lots of bikes have plastic oil pump gears (like my xt225) but you never hear of failures of that part on most bikes, the betas however (and some ktm/husky/gasgas)...

WR250F and WR250R are DRASTICLY different animals. The F is like a honda CRF250X - 4 stroke race dirtbike thats been setup for trail use with a broader powerband, the "R" is like a CRF250L ... a street bike on stilts.

Oh I know lol I've ridden both tbh. The r is best if you want more dual sport while the f is more off-road centered. Which would be more what I'm looking at. Unsure if I'd go that route but cheaper lol

My Dad's $20k Ducati Panigale 959 Corse had plastic water pump gears that stripped and cause an engine failure. Think Ducati covered it?
