The manufacturers blamed high prices on the shortage during covid. Covid has long passed but prices seem still high. Maybe it's like taxes and once they go up they don't go down.

ARP extended studs (not installed yet), Optima Red Top, Siless Insulation in cab. Diode Dynamics LEDs throughout... More titanium fasteners. K&N intake snorkus delete. Greddy hose clamps throughout. DBA 4000XS Brake Rotors. TRD PRO fogs. Dakine Tail Gate Pad. Body Armor Sliders. Icon Stage 4 Lift. Eibach 1" Lift Blocks. Overland Taylor Tune. Rough Country Spare Tire Bed Mount. 67 Designs stuff on the dash. Uniden Radar Detector Hardwired. Spod Lighting Controls. RC Black Series Bumper Lamps RC Black Series Grill Lamp. Body Armor Stealth Front Bumper. Extended Brake Lines. Greddy Shift Knob. More to come of course.
I'm using up old inventory from when I used to build Subarus/Evos/Etc. I was heavy into the show car scene for a few years. 90% of this stuff is from my garage. I've only gone down the Ti Lug Nut road with my wife's Hellcat. I was more into super JDM lugs for the imports. I'll likely go that direction with the Taco as well. Trying hard to resist JDM wheels because the first scratch from a parking block, when I am crawling at the local mall, would kill me.

*DANG IT!!!* YOU JUST REMINDED ME I TRADED IN HER CAR WITH TI LUGS AND TI BRAKE SHIMS!!! *sigh*

You know, every now and then I like to visit the Brown bear car wash here in western Wa. I like the way it blasts the dirt and shit off the bottom of the truck.
Today as I was making my approach the kid with the direction wand asks me if I want him to fold my mirrors back. I say no, I kind of want it cleaned. He grins and says, yeah I hear you man. So away I go into the sudsy domain. About halfway through I notice the scrubby wheel with all those rag looking things has stopped. Then I realize it has wrapped itself around my passenger rear view mirror. Well the machine has stopped but the conveyor is still moving. And then, to my horror, yep, my fuckin mirror snapped off, slammed into my door and side on its way to the side of the conveyor.
Nothing I could do until the ride was over, but then I almost let my temper get the better of me. I did scream a little when the kid said, see, you should have folded your mirrors back.
The manager came out and was strait up apologetic and took pictures, got my statement and said she would call her boss and explain my concern as to why they don’t tell you that they have had this happen to tacos in the past. And if they explained that this was an issue, we would all make sure our mirrors were tucked in.
Bottom line, I take it to the dealer tomorrow and get a quote to replace the mirror and buff out or re paint the scuffs. The car wash will write me a check or pay the dealer direct. Whatever I choose. Still pissed, but not as.

It’s a Bakflip MX4. No rubbing but it has bumpers that rest against the back window
i actually grabbed them on the way home from work and only had it folded up for 300 ft.

What really gets me is the vendor told me they drop the rail so I could still use it. Didn’t happen. They now incorporate the MX4’s mounting rails and hardware into the existing rail without dropping it. So now I got my cletes sandwiched between clamps and all that with minimal sliding. But atleast I was able to install all 4 cleats and it’s a minor inconvenience. I have used my rear cletes since and it’s all good.

To keep things on track for the hananh barbera rabbit, I got some parking sensors and tag lights from the jungle because I broke stuff installing my rear bumper.
Tossed the sensors and just used the retainer clips. The oem clips work just fine with the added thickness of a steel bumper but the knock off clips don’t so much. Sensors will pop out with a gentle push from the back.
Tag lights are fine. Pulled the bulb holders and used the oem ones

No, it’s the Aiden James Customs one. I can’t recommend them as a company but the gear plate is nice.

I had a set of custom drawers I built previously. Removing them let me free up weight for the new bumper and put the spare outside the bed which freed up more room inside the bed. I have some packout plates in the front near the cab on both sides, for tools and camping stuff. I have L track on the bed for tying down stuff like a fridge or whatever.

The drawers were cool but I couldn’t use the truck as a truck. Now I can have the bed emptied out in 5 minutes max.

It is a 1/2" drive. And the 6 sided part is 21mm, not 12mm. Just measured.
