Rear Suspension - The next step?

Hey guys, spent all morning reading around trying to figure out what is the best direction i should go with improving the ass end of my truck, but ended up with more questions with answers. So here i am.

Currently, i have just a Toytec 2" AAL with stock billys. It sucks.

I dont have a problem spending the money to do it right, but only want to drop the most money if its really worth it. I noticed tons of people had great things to say about the wheelers 3 leaf pack. But its hard to compare their impressed view to peoples view of an alcan 8 leaf pack, which is what i was considering going to.

SO! My current considerations:

----Cheapest----
1.) Wheelers 3 leaf pack + some longer billsteins ~$350

2.) Wheelers 3 leaf pack + Fox FJ oem replacements ~$550

3.) Alcan (or equivalent) full pack + billsteins ~$750

4.) Alcan (or equivalent) full pack + Fox FJ oem replacements ~$1000

+ longer rear brake lines, i know.

----Most Expensive----


So you guys see what I'm trying to do here. I just need some input, and if I missed something in my search, please let me know.


What i am trying to accomplish:

Right now i have some Extended travel icons up front with TC UCAs. Keeping them around 2.5-3". I would like to get a nice riding, and performing rear end that will match this. I very rarely carry loads, but don't want to sag like crazy if i do. The most i load it up is a few dirt bikes, or camping gear. I want something that will have good articulation. I think im close but want some input. Is it really worth almost triple the price going from 1 to 4 on my list? Let me know your thoughts!

 

Nice looking truck man! Whats your budget look like? Can you afford the #4 option? If so, I think that one may have the most travel. If I'm not mistaken the fox's have 10" of travel and the billies have 9" (the ones for 2" lift)?? A full leaf pack will articulate the best and will last longer than the aal. I have the wheelers aal and billies and really like it but I've got an 08 with 40k miles and hardly even haul or tow anything significant.

I'm willing to do #4 if its the right way to do it. I'm curious as to how reduced and saggy the truck will perform with an alcan 8 leaf pack. But i feel like getting some of the other stiffer expedition leaf packs would be too much overkill, as i rarely have any actual load.

10"s of travel sounds nice though. Maybe 2 is the best bet for cost/performance?

 

I have the wheeler's 3 leaf AAL, its fine just don't expect it to carry what you plan on carrying with out sagging and bottoming out.

 

Well it has to at least be better than no AAL right? Do you have your overload spring still in?

 

I went with the All-Pro leaf pack plus 5150s

So checking on the all pro leaf pack, looks like a 3" lift. How does that compare to others? Are they measuring it a different way? I feel like the back end would be up very high with a full 3" lift on top of how high it naturally is. Right now i have the 2" AAL and i look Ass up a bit.
