It's out at my brother's in Hales Corners also. I'm surprised how many outages they have there.

That’s hilarious, cool, badass, and completely stupid because wouldn’t those tracks tear up the grass something awful? My cousin has a bobcat on tracks and boy howdy does that thing tear up the lawn.

I needed a new mower 6 yrs. ago. I looked at about a dozen different zero turn mowers. Husqvarna was top of the list followed by Gravely or Ferris. The Gravely and Ferris seemed to be the same mower with different graphics. Every mower had a stamped deck and I was told at every shop to not step on the mower deck, as it would bend and screw up the cutting pattern.
I ended up getting a Bad Boy. I could have bought any 2 of the above mowers for what that Bad Boy cost.

Can you use a tractor? Get a mid size one and put a mower deck on it. 'course you'll need a bucket, forks, plow, brush hawg, etc. to complete the set.

For John Deere and or Husky don't get it at a big box store. Go to dealer. They sell the better quality models.
I have a Husky with about 675 hours. 52 inch cut, fabricated deck not stamped and a rear locker.
All the other brands listed are good choices.

    The bottle/can holder sucks.

Dave your post just gave me an idea…maybe Pat can get his summer school child labor force to modify a PTO drive onto the Taco for a mower deck? Would be the first flat bed Toyota offroad lawnmower in existence.

I'm not as wise on lawn tractors as I am with lawn care.
Been using the same, lowest model, JD LA115 42" for 14yrs without issues. It stays outside uncovered all summer and shed in winter.
I keep it greased annually. Have changed the battery and a fuel filter. Changed the oil probably twice. lol
When it kicks the bed I'm interested in the Gravely zero turn. I need something with a little more weight and ability for my hill.
Getting too old to do it how I've been.....rolled mower over several times on it. I have it figured out now but it's still sketchy.

So... these mowers are spendy. I can get in to a Cub for 3500, a Gravelly for 4000 ish. Kubota? Start at 6000. Love the suggestions but I am struggling with the outlay... Leaning towards Gravelly at the moment.

I think-need to confirm this-I put that funky lower spring to a pad hole not the pbrake arm. If I did that right then I have no idea. The guy in the write up just drove and it got better, so there is that. Getting tired of pulling those 35's on and off...

I remember my first drum job.

    It went smoothly.

But my second drum job.... Also went smoothly.

    And so did the third.

By the 4th, I was an expert. So good that I let a spring slip and sent every damn little nicket and tacket all over the shop floor 20 min before I was supposed to leave to pick up my daughter in evening rush hour traffic. :bananadead:

About the only thing I remember about high school auto class is this. When doing drum brakes, do one side at a time. That way you can use the other side for reference.
I apply that thought to everything 2 sided.

    That's all I got.
