Sorry, I checked in before leaving work. Then went offline for my commute and dinner.

Doing honey-do's right now (caulking new beadboard in dining room) got a chance to walk around, stretch my legs, and ease my back. Almost done.

Yes the pics are above and elsewhere in this thread. Only work on tie down and bottle opener. Won't work on F-bombs.

Caulk is done. Or I'm done with caulk anyway.

    20240801_213046.jpg

@Kwikvette cuts the steel with a plasma cutter. It produces astonishingly clean edges. I don't know if he does any post processing or not, but I'm guessing it is very little. This does leave a square edge inside the hole through which ropes and cargo straps will pass. If you only use the hooks on cargo straps and hook in, there should be little damage done, but if you pass a strap trough the hole there are edges that can abrade and eventually cut the strap or rope.

These printed strap savers reduce the chance of that happening. As seen in the back picture above it thickens the tie down and has a roundover to help prevent chaffing. Since it is plastic, it is less likely still to abrade the strap compared to the metal. Standard disclaimers apply, always check your tie downs and discard them when they show signs of wear, past performance is no guarantee of future gains, don't run with scissors, see a doctor and get rid of it.

Strap savers are not required for hidden stiffys to work. You could go at the inside of the tie down with a file with similar results. If you plan to only use metal hooks they are probably overkill. They do give a slight bit of protection against slicing your hand, but only from the area between the bed and the tie down. The steel should be exposed to the centerline of the truck.

Once we get a set installed, there will be better pictures.

The shipped strap savers will be black. This set was printed in blue to make pictures show up better.

Only metal working I can think of that has any further post processing is on a lathe and milling?

I know milling for sure cause they have bits for clean-up and deburring and they'll add an extra pass or two.

For CNC plasma, there is nothing more after cutting because the metal hardens slightly anywhere it's cut, and this is especially true for holes.

My work gets wiped down and it's ready for welding or paint.

The clean edges and minimal-to-no dross is due to 2 years of CNC experience I've worked hard to accomplish

Not according to the first page, I copied the first batch names out of there , deleted my name (since I can print my own), and pasted it in the post above.

I’ve got my eye on these and I’m impressed by the progress.
I have mini stiffies for my ‘16
Planning RSI bed replacement for my ‘05 once longbed is an option and also no shell on that rig plus 2wd so no wheeling either hence minimal concern w the bed corners.
I assume fitment won’t work for my ‘02 Tundra and that’s a metal bed, though it has the most rear splay of the three trucks from what I see looking at the tailgate from the inside
I love the stealth aspect. Very very cool.

    Of course!

I'll update the first page in a bit.

@MagicToolbox is the person for that!

If you and anyone else tags him, he'll get several made up and sent out to me. This way it saves everyone on shipping as I can provide them with their order once I ship them out.

If for some reason you got bored and wanted to mock something up on cardboard, we can figure something out.

Yes, It looks like you are not in the first batch, when Kwikvette starts working through batch 2, there will be another call for what is wanted by that group.

@NoOne - I know you were super flexible and noted any bracket type but you have a choice of -

    20240802_145152.jpg

    1.Tie downs only

2.F Bomb with opener on driver, F Bomb on passenger

    3. Plain bracket

@ERod27 - I have for you F Bomb with opener on driver, F Bomb on passenger but can switch to tie down or plain bracket

Asking cause I'm packaging some stuff up to get ready to ship on Monday; only orders that won't ship are those getting 3D printed inserts as I'll wait until I receive them.
