    Good morning Delaware + Friends.

It's a travel day for me...going to SoCal for a memorial/funeral this weekend.

Time for my first cup of coffee.

    Thanks Eric,

I'm 2K+ miles away and visit my mom at least once a year...wife and I both usually go...this time, I'm solo.

I mention the miles because I'm not privy to a lot of family dynamics with my sisters and their family.

Time with Mom & step Dad will be good...Mom is 81 but very much busy crunching numbers, taking care of Dad and their home.

I've got one Jr High/High School friend that will pick me up for lunch on Saturday; his sister & mine were good friends in the early 80s.

Good afternoon Delaware + Friends from the Inalnd Empire in SoCal/San Bernadino County.

Fellowship with my mom is great!

Having dinner at my aunt's house later and then settling in early tonight since tomorrow is the funeral/memorial at 10 am.

We're going to have to drive into L.A. so it will be an early morning departure.

Monday is a travel day and then back to the grind on Tuesday.

    Good morning Delaware + Friends.

I'm back in the First State...that time in The Inland Empire with my Mom & Dad was great.

Being there for a funeral...not so much. My nephew was just 34 years old; he touched a lot of people.

The smog & smoke from fires happening in the valley somewhat affected me...I could feel it in my nasal passages.

There's a reason I left LA in 1986; to join the USAF and have a 25 year active duty career.

I do appreciate being home with my wife and getting back to the workweek.

    OMG,

In my work life...things always happen when I'm away from my desk.

I feel like I'm too old for some of the nonsense that happens while I'm away.

Glad to see overall your trip was good and you were able to spend time with your parents. Sorry about the loss of your nephew.

I missed those messages on here, sorry about the late reply.

    Hey Eric,

Thanks for the reply...I appreciate them no matter the time difference. lol

Yeah, time with Family was good...Mom especially.

She's at a point in her life where sharing stories from her youth/life with her parents/grandparents and letting me have old pics.

The smog was bad out there but I think I came away without any nasal problems.

Now, back to work and the daily tasks needing my attention...plus other duties I'm learning in the process.

Been with the company 7 months now and making things work in my favor! lol

Morning all. Finishing up week one of our OCMD vacation. Trying to get my wife to do a little bit of reconnaissance in Sussex Co while we're here. Though Milford did pass her initial sniff test as we drove through there on our way down. So that's promising.

Stopped at Arenas at the Airport in Georgetown while driving to OCMD. I look forward to that stop each year for a good sandwich while watching the plane traffic.

I just asked my co-worker who lives in Lincoln, DE if there are any good restaurants in Milford...Negative Ghost Rider! There's a steakhouse there but it's not that great.

You're better off in Rehoboth, Dewey, or Bethany.

Good morning Delaware & Surrounding Areas.

Went to an outdoor concert at Loblolly Acres and saw: Love Seed Mama Jump

Decent crowd for "bring your own lawn chair" series. :)

Food trucks and Bar and lots of grass to roam.

A trip to the Bavarian Bakery was in order this morning...perfect with my second cup of coffee!

    Have a great day everyone.

Agreed. The challenge is the beach towns mean more $$$ for housing. Hopefully we'll be able to find a decent area that is a balance of reasonable housing costs, places to shop and restaurants to frequent.

Though my wife did point out that I got Milford and Millsboro confused. It was Millsboro that she thought was okay. Maybe places to eat are better there than in Milford.

Good morning Delaware, neighboring states and @BassFisher887.

Yes, those beachfront properties are well-desired but very expensive.

I'm not familiar with restaurants in Millsboro so I can't speak to that...let us know if you find a good one!

    Have a great day everyone.
