summer a/c woes, featuring a clutch that wont activate!

To unplug the connector, press down on the very back and pull.

 

Where the hole is or where it is not?

 

The side where the wires come out.

 

I damn near hurt my hand trying to grip that thing and pull it out of the socket, think taking off the skid plate and coming from below instead of the wheel well would be a better idea?

 

I'd have to look and see, I haven't had to mess with mine yet.

 

There is a little "nub" that sticks up and "latches" in to the hole.
You need to get the clip over that nub.

I've gotten them off different ways. Sometimes with a pick, other times with a small pocket screwdriver.
The important part is, do NOT pry too hard. Those clips like to break.

 

This might sound "crazy", but I've gotten them off by sliding a small pocket flathead screwdriver in under the clip and prying up.
This will lift the clip off the nub and all you have to do is pull back.

Insert flat head screwdriver here.

I haven't had time to look at mine, I've been baling hay and now my Dad's truck is throwing a P207F (Low DEF Quality) code so currently trying to troubleshoot that.

If you follow the 2 wires coming fr9m behind the compressor pulley one should go to ground and the other should have a single wire connector that may be easier to get at than the main one.

 

As in the wires that go into the clutch assembly itself?

One is grounded, and the other goes into a little connector sorta deal

 

That's it, if you can unplug that we can check it there.

So do i hook up the test light to negative or positive terminal?

 

Did you get at that connector?

 

There isn't going to be but one wire.
You hook the test light to the battery - check the wire (connector) for power.

The piece Dm93 circled is the connector.

 

unfortunately fellas this is gunna have to be something i tackle after i get back from a camping trip, so i guess ill see yall in about two weeks lol.

Hopefully its just a boogered wire, but i think i have the patience to replace the clutch assembly i might just need a few different snap ring pliers.
