So let’s talk about that. It’s a 1025R w 23 hp and a 120R loader. Lofting force is in the range of 600-800lbs. With the bigass deck behind him, he’s got max rear ballast. Then he goes and grabs a rotten dead log. Now try that with a healthy tree and see what happens
upload_2024-8-2_19-59-54.jpgThis was a mature maple around 20” in dia. It took all this 1025R (what Tim shows in the video) could handle. I know Tim and his stuff had been enhanced with turbos and bigger hydro pumps so this is a little misleading.

How wet or dry that log was certainly has in impact on the tractors ability to pick it up. Even with the brush hog for counter balance, you can see the rear of the tractor lifting off the ground. He was almost certainly at the max capacity for that tractor.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I broke the front axle casting on my 35 hp tractor.
I was digging a rather large maple stump out of a rock outcropping. I had cut the tree a couple of years earlier. Using the FEL, I had mounted up the rear ballast weight. (about 700# of concrete with a cat 1 implement bar cast in.)

Any way, the bucket caught stone while under curl, the rear end came up off the ground, then there was a "CRACK" and the sickening sound of fluid pouring out on the ground.

The "improved" front axle casting wasn't bad cost wise $1300 IIRC. And the good thing was the "event" allowed discovery that the front differential ring gear mounting bolts had all come loose. The entire front end would have been filled with metal grunge any time.
The carrier was shot, replacement was another $400.

That was a few years back. All is fine today, but I'm might careful with the loader when there is weight out back.
Have you ever driven a crippled tractor out of the woods and back into the yard ? NO FUN!

Yea actually I did. Beet juice all over the place cuz I ran over a railroad spike. I know. It’s minor but that’s my story of limping my tractor back to the garage and figuring out what happened.

To clarify the “old news”. This has been discussed on the JD forums since last month and isolated and checked out. Only a handful of customers have had that issue. Since then we have all, if not most of us, checked out the issue to be a non issue in many case some. This was a known issue before Tim posted that video.

I have the Carlisle 6x12 R1's . You live where everything is twice as much. What torque did you use?
    I need/want a box blade.
