Sounds like a lost cause, if that much work needs to be done to get to be usable. Definitely unfortunate situation, no matter what. Hope things work out in long run for you.

I knocked out a bunch of little things. The biggest was fixing hood rust made worse by rock chips. It looks like moisture is getting trapped in this low spot inside the hood I could be wrong but the damage was on the inside and outside of the hood lip way outside the damage a rock could cause. I chipped off the flaky paint, sanded to bare metal, and hit it with paint pens. It was super hot and the paint was drying too fast so I will finish when the weather cools downs but here it is for now. To hopefully prevent this from happening again I drilled a weep hole in the lowest spot and hit that with paint. The rust on the passenger side was notably less but had the same inside/outside problem as the driver pictured here.

I fixed several other scuffs and chips around the truck as well.

Next was the Tufskins mudflaps all around and a classic TOYOTA tailgate badge.

Got a swingout bumper from Outgear Solutions today. Loaded it up and dropped it off for powder coating.

Now I gotta get ready to chop :sawzall:

I really can't say, but Greenfield Toyota has been good to me. Nothing special, and I'm sure it depends on which tech you draw.
I've only been in for the "new car" services.

Nice! Where did you take it for powder coating and how much are they charging? I looked around a few years ago and couldn’t find anyone reasonable.

Precision Powder coating. I few years ago, I call 20 places and these guys were the most receptive to doing it. I think I paid $200 for my C4 hybrid front bumper. I'm not sure if that is expensive or not, but the bumper still looks great.

That’s a great deal! I was getting similar quotes, if not more expensive, for small chassis braces for a Subaru. I had a guy in the Bay Area that was great but it’s been a struggle up here.

I'll let you know the final price when I go pick it up (in 7-10 days supposedly).

Steering wheel make over. Revesol wheel and black AJT Designs inserts. Only issue is I must not have clipped the airbag connectors right because the airbag light is on. I'll deal with that in the AM. Love the look and feel. Before and after. IMG_5502.jpg

Does the black section of the wheel easily scratch? @ClassyTacos I think you said you had one too.
