That they are. Maybe you’re remembering me talking about the 17” Rock warrior wheels that are, in my opinion, some of the best looking wheels.

I could have also fat fingered a 17 instead of a 16 here or there

No I think you’re right and it was the rock warrior wheels I’m thinking about. That’s good to know you have 285/75/16’s because I’m gonna be debating going up to that when my Maxxis MTs wear out. How have you found around-town driving without a regear?

When I had 285’s, I had the g003’s and those had such an aggressive tread pattern that they crushed the truck’s driveability. Im hopeful that an all terrain 285 wouldn’t be as noticeable.

 

Im not really having much of an issue with drivability, even with the heavy tires. I do have a tune which might be hiding some of the struggle. I could feel it when we were at Rausch Creek and driving in the “mountains” up there.
To and from work at 70mph isn’t really an issue either. I don’t feel the truck struggle or the rpm being an issue.

I’m not sure how to describe the regear benefits to my wife if I wanted to go with them. She won’t understand “it’s just better performance and driving around”

she doesn’t really drive the truck anymore. She’ll ride in it but wouldn’t be able to tell about a regear.

I’ll add in that Katzkin leather upgrade with heating (already have) and cooled/vented seats with foam into consideration. Maybe those with a roof rack.

 

Nice! I’m sure most of my issues were probably due to the aggressive tread pattern of the g003’s then. Those lugs are huge and very spaced out lol. The Maxxis seems to be a much more road friendly MT so far. It’s a smaller size but the 265 Maxxis weighs the same as the 285 g003.

 

@Taco1004 - Hey Mike have you even been to Robs Bluegrass Barn? I saw that they are having bluegrass music tomorrow night, I'm thinking about checking it out.

 

I have not… where’s that at? Sounds fun by my pop is in town visiting from SC. Made some reservations to take us all out to dinner and all tomorrow.

 

Had some buddies go to the barn, had very good things to say about it. It's so close and can't believe I haven't been yet.

It's pretty close to your house. I've never known of it until yesterday, I was looking at local music venues and it popped up.

Pretty close, ha! That’s all but out of the neighborhood and through the woods… to grandmothers house we go? How have I never seen or better yet heard of this place before now?? Will definitely have to keep this in mind and check it out.

 

Finally got around to installing my street legal kit and registering my sxs. I spent this morning exploring Cacapon state park & Berkeley Springs. I also planned to explore Sleepy Creek Wildlife area but storms cut my day short. Happy tho because we need some rain.
