I doubt that small of a hole will have any negative effects. What size did you drill?

Started small but now it’s like 1/2”x3/4” oblong.
If I was doing it again and was willing to go to the store I would have got a 3/4” metal hole saw and made a nice clean hole.

I have a step drill bit set of various sizes. Will that work or is the metal too thick?

Here’s a new one for me and most or all of you.

I need new tie rod ends but have to choose left or right handed threads…wtf!
I have GM 1 ton blah blah but have to go crack the lock nuts to see which way they go. Threads are so fine I don’t trust just looking at it.

edit: they look like one of each! I’ll report back for my own records.

Durobumps, group buy on here a few months back. Made the decision on price only. Had superbumps on the last one and no complaints.

Been a while since I worked in a front end shop, but, tie rod ends are side specific.
So, should be one of each.

Edit, maybe my memory is lying to me... I could definitely be mistaken

Kind of sick of this but at least it’s only minor now.

resealed the cap window with butyl tape. But there’s water on the frame itself where the windows lie. The weatherstripping looks new still, so not sure if it’s just part of the design of having sliding windows with mesh.
Leaks from the corners of the frame so recaulked the bottom half. Hopefully it works.. but to reduce the amount of seepage through the window itself, I’m thinking to put an RV gutter. Looks like a little half inch j shape with 3m backing.

Anyone have experience with them? After this I think I’m just done and gonna live with whatever as last night there was only a little bit of ingress.

feels like my weep holes don’t drain so I may combine all this with some sort of wick pushed into them like a strand of wire

For the front at least you could just get $30 energy suspension bumpstops. Don’t overpy for rubber

I was remembering both tie rods being the same other than a bend in all my previous vehicles. Righty righty kind of stuff. No matter either are common at the local vatozone for cheap. Meanwhile I have quite a few oem inners and outers I need to get rid of.

C’mon, I’m a sucker for tw group buys! And then have a habit of hitting them up to sponsor aoaa:anonymous:

And yes, I did know about those and they are a better deal.

I know for solid front axle they are different threaded so you can adjust toe by spinning the tie rod.

I know Ben and Steven, the taller one has the Tacoma, the shorter one has the GX and looks like Ron Jeremy.
