Took the skid plates off and spent some quality time admiring and inspecting the 4runners undercarriage for any issues after the Colorado trip.
    IMG_5211.jpg
No trip related issues or damage that I can see!

I gave everything a general washout yesterday and today I greased up the driveline zerks and cleaned the driveshafts up a bit so they look pretty behind all the skid plates.
    IMG_5226.jpg
    IMG_5224.jpg

While the skids are out, I touched up all the gashes and scrapes. Also drilled a few more drain holes in it
    IMG_5216.jpg

This might need some attention before the next gear oil change…
    IMG_5221.jpg
I won’t be able to get a socket on that drain plug until I figure out a way to clear all the metal that was gouged out all the way to the plug. I’m thinking a cold chisel to bend the that out of the socket hole area. Any other ideas? Pretty much ground out all the ring protecting the drain plug, so I’m gonna have to do something about that too.

That looks a lot like the factory crossover on the 4runner! Expect your looks like is completely recessed. The 4runner has just a bit that hangs lower than the transmission crossmember. Looks good!

Yeah, the first picture shows the original pipe, hopefully the shiny new one will do the trick.

I need to get a picture of mine in there. It comes back behind the transfer case before cutting over and joining a new y-pipe.

Having a relaxing evening at home. Got a little packing/rearranging done ahead of next weekend this evening. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday. :D

Yeah, all the solid axle swap stuff. You pretty much have to do links with how tight the space is on the drivers side of the SD60. Steering is easy with a Toyota box and weld on D60 steering

No. no you don't. Nobody in the north chooses that option. :p

Looking at both options I try to look at which one causes any flow restriction.....
Flattening the pipe or adding another bend?

Maybe nothing noticeable and maybe I'm overthinking that part but the outflow must change.

    My kind of night.
Not indulging in finer microbrews or bourbons anymore is why I seek out finer single origin coffees.

I don't mind a cigar every now and then but my knowledge stops at the occasional wood tips I bring fishing with me.
For the sole purpose of keeping the bugs away from my face while it's clamped between my teeth.

I wonder if it’s possible to remove the cobbled pipe I now have an have a muffler shop duplicate it by bending one pipe and welding the proper ends on. I really like where it is, but it would be nice if it was cleaner.
I found these here on TW.

I'm definitely not any sort of expert. I usually buy cheap Backwoods cigars. Last weekend I was walking through the cigar booth at a Harley Davidson event with a friend, and decided to buy a few nicer ones. Then, I decided to get a little humidor to keep them nice, because I figured it would be awhile before I smoked them. Then, I decided to get a few more, and now it's become a whole new problem. o_O

    20240802_170743.jpg

Even though I have no idea what I'm talking about, I will say that I liked the Padron more than any cigar I can recall. And, they're not terribly expensive, compared to what's out there.

It is. I saw it somewhere. Can't remember where. If I find it again I'll show you. :D
    Glad I could help.

Update: Are you referring to something like this?

How much clearance to the drive shaft? I know you have no idea if it hits but I worry it could get there at full drop….

When I see that exhaust make a vulnerable turn,IMG_2293.jpg I think of that '91 prelude you've heard me talk about.
    116AKH10.jpg
I caught the exhaust by the arrow.
Everything in front got stretched out. Everything behind got crushed and pinched. Very costly snag having to replace entire exhaust.

I like where Tim with 1 m has it.
