What’s ironic is that Toyota is now fueling Maverick sales even further by pricing Tacoma upmarket, so you wonder how long they’ll sit on the sideline for a segment that they themselves are inadvertently growing. Ford should’ve sent them a bouquet & thank-you card when Gen4 prices were released.

Then you wonder what platform Toyota will use (Maverick shares Bronco Sport/Escape), and then where will they build it, b/c Toyota will sell a ton of so-called “Stouts”.

I’ve sampled Mavericks- they immediately make sense for the vast majority of folks buying midsize trucks these days, and the MSRP is just right. Hopefully Toyota gets the memo soon.

But Ford keeps raising Maverick prices…

Yep, another reason why we need more legit competition in that space.

Dunno, can't one balance out all the cringe apocalypse bait? How far did that ADD fear mongering go? We all get to express our opinions sometimes they don't agree with yours.

There is defiantly some kind of glitch going on with some of them, transmission glitches are starting to pop up on the new Land Cruiser as well. I would assume you could see the same with the new 4 runner since they all share the same transmission.

At least the engine seems pretty solid so far...I think more time and miles need to be put on them to really find out though....The Tundra engine was solid...till it wasn't with miles as well.

Never said they had to. Nor am I arguing for or against. There is some cringe stuff world is falling but there is data and truth to the transmission issues that are continuing to pop up and more evidenced on other forums and fb groups than you hear here.

Does anyone here own or seen a good owner review of the new TRD Pro and or Trailhunter trims for the Tacoma? Because I’m curious as how good or bad the reliability is with the hybrid. Like does it have the same blown engine issue like the tundra hybrid or?

Is your steering rack still intact? Don't they blow up or something like that and some OEM refuses to acknowledge it?

I’d steer clear of these new gen Tacoma’s. Just look what’s happening with the new tundra, they’re STILL having problems. I’d wait about 3-4 years before even considering one. Reliability? You can throw that out the window. It seems Toyota cares more about profit and getting themselves out of debt.

No issues with mine yet. I think ford covered most of the issues with the 22s. The bronco year to stay away from would be the 21s because of the issues they have had.

TM stock is at $173, down from 255. The bad PR has made an impact.

Okay thank you! I was just genuinely curious because I have loved my past 2 tacomas. And then when I saw what path Toyota is going in that made me go to the broncos because it’s a more reliable turbocharged engine. Since ford has been at the turbos for longer and the 2.3 has been proven to be reliable for turbocharged engines.
