I am trying to convince my wife that she can get into the Pro without a trampoline. Is it possible to install a running board or is the rockguard preventing that?

How tall is your wife? My wife is 5’ 0” and can get into the passenger side of my Sport with no steps. She does use the grab handle.

She has never driven my Sport in 8 years because she says she can’t see over the hood, but that’s another story.

My wife is 4'11'', she can do without a step but does not want to. I was set on the Sport Hybrid but have a chance to buy a Pro in Terra color at MSRP. The Pro has rock rails/guards and I think that prevents the idea of a running board.

Id purchase actual rock sliders I know Toyota says they are good but id beef that area up and with doing so they make steps that adapt to rock sliders ( id remove them if you plan on offroading) or you can get rock sliders with a wider kick out and different angle to make the slider itself a step

Hi! 2024 Pro owner here. The rock guards are only bolted to the body not the frame. There’s pre drilled holes on the actual frame if you wish to remove the guards and install actual sliders or running boards.

I’m only 5-7 and young son is 5-0. Both of us can hop in no prob. Congrats on your upcoming truck! :)

My wife is 4'10 and can get in my truck but must use the grab handle, and I hear her complain a bit sometimes. I put on a nice set of low profile running boards and it made a big difference for her, and the truck still look goods too.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that input. Nothing is better than first hand knowledge from another member. I don't know if you can tell, but when I remove the rock guards is the surface under the guards painted? I am not sure how it looks close up. I assume that I have to find some kind of filler screws to close the holes for the rock guard bolts? Are the rock guard bolt threads out of sight under the truck? Hope I am not asking too many questions, but I am ready to commit to the truck and I want to make sure I get it right. Thanks

That is good to hear, I am planning to do the same. Did you have to remove rock guards in order to do that?

If it's like all the other Tacomas...... the threaded holes are hidden.... you can put the bolts into the threads that came with The rock guards
