How do you like it?

 

Hit a guy up that has a 2006 zx6r with only 2200 orig miles to see if he wants to trade for the FZ1. He states the zx6 is too uncomfortable and too fast for what he wants. Sounds like he needs a FZ1. Haven’t hear back yet and not holding my breath. Didn’t say anything about a trade in the ad but I figured I would try.

 

I bought a toy in march its a 2022 KTM 250 XC new. I needed something to put in the back of the Tacoma.

The guy with the zx6r is interested in a trade. He said he has a guy that is supposed to be coming from Idaho on Wed to look. So I will just be patient and see what happens. If not I found a 2013 GSXR 600 with 23000 miles all stock that’s within 2 miles from me. He is asking $5500 but said he would negotiate. Trade in value according to Kelly blue book is $6500

Aw yeah, he got a bike! Spending a bunch of time practicing e-stops and U-turns will do you good. If you ever want a riding buddy, let me know and I'll come down to give you some company.

 

Honestly looking at new models I've seen a few bikes used that are nice. But then you ask about it and it has issues or loads of hours but they still want 5k ish...

Tbh prob gonna go back to my idea of the little klx300r for cheap I found brand new

 

Well that fell through quick. I guess I offended him by asking how he came up with the $8500 asking price for a bike that has a retail value of $3700 . I said my bike has a retail value of $6700 (this is jd power) and would ask 7k if I was selling it. I said your bike does have low miles so about 5k value? He must have not liked that I showed him the JD power values and said “keep your bike bud not interested “ WOW!! Oh well life goes on.

 

Definitely gonna be practicing a lot of the low speed stuff. Was out doing some figure eights in the culdesac yesterday. Love to be out riding now, but my class to get a permit isn't for another 2 weeks. The weight is gonna take some getting used to. Spent decent amount of time on dirt bikes, but they were all 200 pounds lighter.

Gotta get my wife a bike too, soon. She's the one that thought it would be cool to get our endorsements. She took the kickstart class Friday to get some seat time before permit class.

I've seen it up and down over the years, belts are tightening, but I also think riders are aging out and not climbing on bikes like they did 10 years ago. He told me his side by side biz was doing good, just no road bikes. I mean I am thinking hard on selling my KLR and not replacing it. Between vehicles, firearms, cameras and fishing gear, I kind of feel like I dont own my shit anymore, it owns me. LOL

 

I think a lot of people buying scoots were under the impression they were buying an investment from used prices. There are some deals, and I dont mind paying more for one that has what I am looking for, but run of the mill bikes, dont need one.

 

It's been 50/50 for me I see bikes with close to 200ish hours and I'm sure they are great but we are talking about 5k-6k on the cheap end of it's a 2012 or newer... I found a left over model klx300r awhile back but hadn't sold my bike yet so couldn't make a deal but since mine is gone I can easily pick it up now.

Was trying to find a 2t but haven't seen deals or one that's not trashed so meh imma.buy new and personally can't justify 12k on a dirtbike lol

Yup the price was high tbh but I listed everything with it. All my OEM parts upgraded bits and maintenance stuff I had prepared for it just sitting around

An interesting bike just popped up on CL,, 1998 Honda superhawk 996 with 14000 orig miles asking $3400 with two bros carbon full exhaust and jet kit. Otherwise stock. Thought these were cool back in the day. I almost bought a 1999 yellow superhawk but ended up buying the 99 cbr 600 F4.
