Nope. I had an electrician once tell me they all do it as a way to (in theory) tell that an electrician was the last to work on it. Whether that's true or not, who knows, but I try and align anything I work on.

Interesting - I feel like everyone other than me watches. I've never had the attention span for sports in any form.

For professional stuff, I can relate to this since I have absolutely no idea what the rules of most games are:

I'm 32 and am probably in very middle-of-the road physical shape. I'm not a gym person, but I try to stay reasonably active and have a 6-8 mile bike loop I try to do somewhat regularly. I think my pace is pretty decent given the hills. When I was 18, a friend and I could do 70 miles on a mountain bike in a day, 3000+ ft of elevation gain with no problem. I'd need a lot of practice to do anything close to that now.

My Garmin watch is a good motivator - I like looking at all the data it gives me, and it makes interesting charts and maps-

    Amen.

I like the replays too. We can watch something live or we can skip over medaling ceremonies.

I am happy we got to watch the men's BMX final live. I know y'all other than ABA don't care much about it. But I used to ride and race, and a french podium sweep on home turf in the Olympics is a historic moment.

I like that peacock allows for some ADD. I can watch beach volleyball for ten minutes, speed climbing for an hour, etc.

It's good in the background when I was/am working from home. I can't really sit and watch for hours on end.

I got an apple watch a year ago. I got it so I can run (I hate running) without my phone and have music.

The stuff you and I have was the realm of Olympic athletes (not to go back to the Olympics but I've gone on this tangent before) even just 15 years ago. Training zones, climbs, tracking, relative efforts, heart rate monitoring and tracking - this was lab grade stuff in 2010 times. Some people were just getting pedometers. It's insane.

Also it can be overwhelming to have all this data and remember we're average Joe's (heh) just keeping active.

I like to have it, I won't get another apple watch - the stream of work hand me down phones has been plugged up! Once this phone and watch combo dies I'm back on Android.

They do not get much people food so this was a big treat.

My dog is a good dog. He likes tiny hamberder.

I have a Garmin Instinct 2. I actually thought I would never be a smart watch person because a color touchscreen device on my wrist is not appealing - I have zero desire to do anything with texting, phone calls, or apps on a 1" screen. I also don't want to have to charge a watch every couple days.

This one is perfect for me, though - actually looks like a watch, monochrome display, 3+ weeks of battery life, and the information I actually care about without the fluff. I like it for workout/GPS mapping stuff and the time/date/heart rate/elevation/compass/sunset time at a glance. I turned off the call/text/app notifications. I don't have large wrists and just wish I had gone 40 mm instead of 45 mm. I sometimes accidentally hit buttons when I bend my wrist, and I don't think that would happen on a slightly smaller watch. Whenever the next generation comes out, I may go for a 40 mm solar version.

I watched most of the bmx racing. It was pretty good. The mountain bike race was good too with a close finish.

You’re not kidding about the tech now-days. I got a coach earlier this year because I wanted to take on some longer races and didn’t want to die. He could analyze all of my data from Strava since I started recording, set my heart rate zones, monitor a training plan, everything. The level of coaching I signed up for was fairly minimal, but there was a lot he could do just with the data I record anyways on a normal ride.

I did that show. It was so stuffy on the floor. The fog machine was stagnant.. at least they could've made it piña colada scented. I'm glad we had a day off in between to recover and rehydrate. Pantera was a great opener. These guys are all getting up there in age...so see them when you can

Definitely should see them once. I saw them about 10-12 times up to 2000 and said no more, but I went 2 yrs ago (my brother in law bamboozled me into it). Was very impressed, they still sound killer. Was nice to see Rob T with them.

That said those guys' window is closing big time, at their age.
