Just switched to 91 octane from 87 octane.

Truck is behaving much better at lower RPMs with a MT. Not going back to 87

We have various lines of communication available for our retailers to contact us should they have questions or concerns. As far as why you were told what you were, I won't be able to comment further as I have no context for what dialog you may or may not have had other than what has been shared here.

But as stated, your cat-back exhaust will not pose a problem with our calibration. Where situations get tricky is when federally mandated emissions equipment (typically catalytic converters) is removed.

OTT is headquartered in Hoover, AL, where the owner, John Gobbels, resides. I'm based in Ogden, UT, and I lead calibration and development for OTT.

I'm located in Central Oregon and trying to get this tune. Any suggestions on whom to reach out to?

You’ll have to coordinate with the two tuners we have in that area (per the link above) or purchase the equipment and files to self-install (which we can provide).

With that said, if you want it flashed for you, you will have to make contact with the retailer(s) in that map.

Switched from KD to OTT+AGM yesterday…reset ECM, clear TCU for a clean start. I’m on LM settings for now and I’ve only driven it in town. I can tell the shifting is smoother and more refined. I like how long it holds each gears for the way I drive. Also, noticed MPG (hope it sticks) is better.
Glad I switched! This tune is perfect for my driving style, stock gears and 265/70/17 A/T tyres with steel rear bumper. I just want to say THANKS to John for taking care of me while he’s on vacay this weekend! We were able to do paperwork and tune files sent to me. Great CS!

I’ve been considering one of these tunes for a while now but haven’t pulled the trigger. While the truck is pretty gutless my issue isn’t with it holding gears or ripping it on the highway. My biggest issue is stop and go traffic, especially when the AC is on. Power is just so lacking in the low end it’s super rough and frustrating to drive stop and go and through traffic. Will this help my experience? Or is there anyone with some real world insight that could chime in? Thanks!

I would say its worth it for your problems. I got this tune done right after I had gotten my 5.29s about a year ago and since then it has been a pleasure to drive. It got rid of that sluggish low end feeling and improved my throttle response. It does help with the gear hunting and the sluggish starts. They have different levels of throttle response to fit your style.

A cool plus is that if you live in Cali it recently became Carb legal so you don't have to worry about that.

I assume your Tacoma is automatic transmission, so what the previous person wrote. I drive 6 spd manual transmission Tacoma, completely different set up. I have it on Spicy OTT for throttle. Better than before! I luv my Tacoma! Now people just like drive too slow.:D:p

I had the OTT tune done this last weekend by Paul at PNW Tuning. We first did the mild / medium and even that was a little too touchy for me (I'm very light footed). So we went with the lite / mild and it's perfect! Immediate throttle response, nice and smooth through the power band, and no more gear hunting. Couldn't be happier!

Few days ago I got the OTT tune files from John and been running on LM throttle…
Yesterday I flashed my truck from LM to MM setting. Wow, I can’t believe how much better it is for me! I thought it would be too jerky like KDm on similar setting but it wasn’t! This OTT is so much refined and smoother and still got the punch! I really wish I had gone this route from the start. So worth the switched. Go get your OTT ASAP!!!
    Thanks again, @Boltripper

    Redline hood struts, oversized tires.
I already have an HPTuners setup with the MPVI3 module that I use at work. I am curious if anyone has seen any type of obvious MPG improvements on any tunes? I have an hour commute to work each day and would really love to get even 1 or 2 MPG improvement. Driving a 2015 TRD Off-Road, Tow package, 4.0V6 with automatic transmission.

Supercharged on TRD tune or fully stock truck? The supercharged TRD tune is really rich and wastes gas to be extra safe, so in that case you’d definitely see improvements.

Just curious, can you be flashed back to 100% stock once you’re tuned? Like reads stock and all

Awesome, was curious because i remember there being some talk about needing a new ECU to read stock awhile ago before the emissions cert

There was a short period of time that a few Cal ID’s could not be flashed back to “True Stock”. That is no longer the case.

We also have the CARB-EO for the 3G 3.5L Tacoma, so our calibration will pass even in the most stringent states, making that concern a non-factor.
