I think the dealer close to me has pre sold 500. They are trickling in. I’ve seen a couple on the street. But I cringe when I think about the twin turbo v6. I hope they get that shit fixed.

I’m not dropping 85k on a time bomb.

It’s both and…it takes manufacturers time to ramp up their production, usually occurs over the course of a year. That’s why they share those production numbers.

Yup. Shocked the hell out of me when I saw that it was pre-owned. From an Acura dealership as well.

Lols. Wifey asked me if that was something we could change.
I said “sure, I’ll order them.”
Waiting on them to come in now actually!

Tacoma sales went up in July 18,571 units sold. Tundra sales were down, I'm guessing fullsize sales are down across the board. I was little surprised by the Tacoma numbers, hybrids might have contributed to the increase along with discounts and financing incentives.

July is the Tacoma’s best month yet. Over 600 sold per day.

There was a black TRD Sport parked on my street this morning.

I happen to take a look at a few of the Mavericks I had my eye, many of them have sold. Wouldn't mind picking up a Fwd or Awd XL.

The way the economy is looking, if you can I would hold off on a new purchase. Price cuts and lower rates I believe are on the horizon. Gone are the days of these inflated prices imo.

Exactly what the high rates are supposed to do. Working as intended to stop aggressive inflation by killing jobs and economic activity. The real fear is they held that lever too long and are pushing us into a recession. But they are too smart for that…right…?

Unfortunately I think you're right. TFL's viral broken diff video probably cost Toyota a good number of sales.

Highly unlikely. They are 100's of videos for any and every car and truck with problems that get posted. Just one small data point use to make their buying decision. It certainly didn't cost them even one sale that put a blip on Toyota's sales results.

That was the start of the negative media for the new Tacoma. Then a bunch of YouTubers jumped on the bandwagon. I am sure it cost Toyota a few hundred sales - but yes probably not enough to really get anyone at Toyota in a panic.

Unfortunately some people think 1 diff failure means all of them will fail.

Yeah no one will know but there is so much negative on any socials that I don't think effects sales one bit. Tesla's were literally catching fire, several of them. It did not change their sales from going through the roof and hitting record sales. One YTer with a failed diff WHILE OFFROADING which most won't even see the outside of a mall have zero concerns.

Does anyone even go to the mall anymore? I feel like they have just about died off and we’re left with the phrase younger generations won’t know the origin of.

I doubt if any media is going to sway a diehard Tacoma buyer from buying a Tacoma.

I only want an XtraCab and those are nowhere to be found where I'm at. Not having trucks available is Toyota's biggest thing getting in the way of sales. It's not 2020 anymore no reason any manufacturer to not have vehicles on the lot. I can find about 5 Super Duties, plenty of Mavericks, there's even a regular cab short bed 1500 at the closest GMC dealer to me. That I would buy.

Sneakers, furntiure, fake hair, lotto tickets, and what's left at the food court is all you are going to find at the mall theses days.
